Well, someone did find the answer. The key file in this was and adjustment in the wp-settings.php file. After that adjustment I could again log into the dashboard and correct my error.
Don’t ask me about the exact adjustment as my php knowledge is minimal 🙁
nope, example.com/wp-login.php also gives a 404 🙁
