Hi Dani,
I tried the MailPoet form sign-up with a Gmail account and it worked! Thanks for that. However, I have a series of emails set up for a new user registration through the standard Woocommerce log-in/register form. I tried it with a different Gmail account and no confirmation email was sent. How do I set up the email confirmation for a new user registration? Since my new user registration form is the standard Woocommerce form, the new users are assigned the role of customer.

Thanks for the response. Just letting everyone know that the “Members” plugin carries a warning that it is not compatible with the current version of WordPress. “Ultimate Member” does not have such a warning, and is therefore a safer way to go for managing user roles.
