In reply to: [Testimonial Carousel For Elementor] Unable to set background color or imageThat looks great! Thanks for responding to this an adding this feature. I haven’t tried or tested all the features of this plugin, but I can say that it the best slider I’ve worked in years.
😃
Nice 😀 Thanks for the quick fix!

In reply to: [Testimonial Carousel For Elementor] Unable to set background color or image🙄 Well, nevermind what I mentioned above. I see now that the background applied in the Style panel will apply to ALL slides that do not have a background set in the Content panel. So, it’s still not very intuitive.
Could we get the same background styling option in the Content panel that are available in the Style panel? (Img resolution, Position, Attachment, Repeat, Display Size, etc)

In reply to: [Testimonial Carousel For Elementor] Unable to set background color or imageI tested the updated version and am able to set a background that is visible in Style > General Styles > Background Type. Setting and controlling the background in this panel is much more useful and intuitive. However, it might be helpful to note that when the background is set in the Content panel, it will override whatever is set in the Style panel. Having 2 places to insert a background, each with a show/hide button, may be confusing. It definitely does not make any sense to me why there it needs a background setting panel in 2 different locations. I recommend removing the background feature in the Content panel.

In reply to: [Testimonial Carousel For Elementor] Unable to set background color or imageIt was a coverflow carousel widget. I waited a few days for a response and then moved on to another plugin. I just checked the plugin again and tested creating the carousel again, but then it crashed my page. I had to deactivate the plugin to regain access to my page.
FYI, here is the error info from my webhost:

thrownYes, thank you for looking into that @emermatomo. Do you know what specific directives are required for Matomo? Do they include:
'style-src-elem'? I will check with my host (HostGator) for more info.- This reply was modified 3 years ago by curiousonepdx.
I went through several troubleshooting steps, including the ones you recommended. The first was making sure everything was updated, and then rolling back to previous versions of Elementor and the theme. There is something obviously buggy in the Twenty Seventeen theme that breaks when the page layout is changed. This is not limited to Elementor, but Elementor does cause it to break.
When I use another website builder and modify the layout for wider content, it breaks. When I apply custom CSS to set content width, it breaks.
Actually getting support to look into this is even more difficult than finding the solution on my own. So, I’m not going to waste my time trying to chase down non-existent support from either developer. The issue has been identified and clues to the cause have been shared. It’s up to Elementor and/or WordPress to decide if they care enough to fix it.
For my website, it took longer than I could wait for a response on this issue, so it was recreated using a different technique. Thank you!
Additional information:
• Issue only occurs when the Page Layout is set to ‘Elementor Canvas’ or ‘Elementor Full Width’
• Issue only occurs when ‘Front Page’ has the Elementor page layout set.YES! That was perfect – thank you!
Using the plugin Code Snippets was easy and smooth. and the PHP function code worked flawlessly. The code simply eliminates the word ‘Protected’, but allows editing as well. I was able to include the inline Unicode for a padlock (F1512) and it looks great.
This article you referred is an excellent resource discussing the issue.

Hello Kathryn @zoonini!
Thanks for looking at this. It appears you found the page I was referring to – with the gallery of post image/links. For the replacement ‘image,’ I just want to use the lock typography icon from FontAwesome or Google Fonts.
Because the text “Protected:” is included in the code <span>Protected: US Marine Corps</span>, it seems that it would have been concatenated outside of CSS. Maybe in js? The main theme is WP Twenty Seventeen. And the ‘protected’ text is only added when I add a password to the post in Quick Edit mode in the control panel, otherwise, it’s blank. I tried 3 different plugins from 3 different developers, and the behavior is the same. So, it has to be part of the main theme.
I will look into a Child theme. But I’m assuming it will be a matter of trial and error to find something that will NOT add ‘protected’ to the title. And I’ll send a message to Elementor too. I also sent a message to Hash One, who is the developer of that particular post gallery. Maybe they can look into it as well.
Thanks again! Michael
