Awesome, thank you.
Hi markwt,
I used your instructions with Chrome for the cookies. What’s the difference between Channel ID and cookie? There are some where it’s written only Channel ID, what’s that? What does it do?
Thanks,
DavideHi,
Is the webtoffee website has all the information written on the cookielawinfo site as well? The site is still down.
Thanks

So I suppose that cookie is something like a technical data and it doesn’t use personal data. Both are managed in a different way.
However, the GDPR has new indications for the old cookie law, so we still have to include it in our cookie policy where there is the list of all the type of cookies used (with their weird names) and the explaination of what they do.

Thank you,
DavideI don’t know about the codes yet but what I know is this:
By default they are Personalized Ads (which means that Google can display both, personalized or not, depending on the data they have from the customer).
The consent for this type of Ads unfortunately are more restricted. Which means that in you cookie plugin, you need to have explicit consent before the Ad is served. Scrolling is not allowed. The user needs to click OK and only afterwards the personalized Ad can be served.
You can use, somewhere, I still don’t get this, to serve only Non-personalized Ads. In this case, they still use cookies but they are another type of cookies, so the only scrolling for consent is allowed.
You can serve both, like the huffingtonpost you saw, with a cookie plugin that can manage that, and it gives Personalized Ads if the user says yes, or Non-Personalized Ads if they user says no.
This should be the general concept but I still don’t need all the technical details about it.

In reply to: [Ad Inserter - Ad Manager & AdSense Ads] GDPR-ComplianceHi,
So, just to be sure, this plugin doesn’t use any cookie at all, right? And it doesn’t do any statistics on IP addresses, even if in anonymous way, right?
Thanks.

Thank you.
I’m not experiencing any problem at the moment so far. But the feature this plugin is offering is mandatory and it’s risky if it stops working when we can’t see it straightaway.
John, please, let us know if you find a similar alternative. Thanks.
I was thinking the same thing as I received the same report.
It’s a simple and useful plugin, I hope it could be maintained.
Best,
DavideHi Igor,
Thanks for the quick update but I haven’t time right now to experiment, as I’m not a Pro on this, and I can’t afford to mess up the banners I have.
I could see next week if I’ll have more time available to do some test, and trying to understand how to do them.
Thanks,
DavideThe problem is that I have thousand of articles and it’s not so easy to understand the number of paragraphs as they might be completed different from one blog post to another.
Sometimes paragraphs are based on one sentence only, one after the other, sometimes are bigger. The number of paragraphs in one blog post or another could be completely different.
That’s why a specific number of words after each banner gives me the certainty that only a precise number of Ads will be displayed on any blog post. Otherwise I should do it manually for each longer blog post.
This also could be a nice feature, to define a maximum number of Ads displayed based on the length of the article.
Hi Igor,
Thanks, I will definitely have to read deeply the guide you linked to me. Because I saw there are a lot of interesting things to do.
Do you have some examples of method number 1 already set up somewhere to look at?
For example,
There are a bunch of blog posts, some of 300 words, and some of 1500 words.Ad number 1 shows always after the 3rd paragraph on each post
Ad number 2 shows always after content on each postBlog posts with 300 words will have only 2 Ads (Ad number 1 and Ad number 2)
On the longer posts only other Ads should show up, each one after 300 words.
Ad 3 at 300 words
Ad 4 at 600 words
Ad 5 at 900 words
Ad 6 at 1200 wordsHow do you set up Ads to behave like that. I tried to have a look in the settings but I didn’t really understand the best way to do it.
Thank you very much,
Davide
