In reply to: trouble logging inSorry it took so long to reply. Here is what we’ve got so far:
The client disabled two firewalls, Windows firewall and an eTrust Personal Firewall.) When she did that, she was able to log on. She doesn’t want to have to disable firewalls every time she logs on from home, though. Also, when she did that, everything slowed down to a crawl.
We still can’t understand why there was no problem logging on before the site went “live” but there is a problem now.
She uses Windows XP at home and Internet Explorer both at home and at work.
Does that give you any clues?

In reply to: trouble logging inI know, but I didn’t get an answer there and I didn’t know if it was because it was in the wrong category. So, I re-posted. The client is a journalist and needs to go out to the field and needs to maintain her blog to maintain readership. So, resolving the issue is pretty important to her.

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installing>>uh-oh, this is an IIS (MS) server, isn’t it?
Please explain this. I have re-checked the files and there is a style sheet there. Do I have the wrong version of WordPress?

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installingYes, I am stupid. Definitely the heat… I figured it out. Thank-you for your help this afternoon. I really appreciated it.

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installingThis is going to seem stupid, but it’s been one of those days… Blame it on the heat. I closed the window with my new blog without setting it as a favorite. Now I can’t remember how to access it. Is it wp-login.php? That’s not working, if it is.

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installingI’m on a roll and answering my own questions. However, now I have the issue of the stylesheet is missing. I uploaded the extracted files in the same place and there seems to be a style.css file in the folder. Suggestions?

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installingThat worked! yeah! Now for the next step. I have a Templatemonster theme. I uploaded it correctly and the readme instructions tell me to go to the WordPress Administration Panel. Do you know where that is?

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installingI think so… This is what I’m typing in the address box:
http://www.site360.mysite4now.com/froma/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php
And that’s where the file is located.

In reply to: wordpress and webhost4life — help installingDid you ever get an answer to this? I, too, don’t know much about databases. I am using webhost4life and am not sure where to go after I create the database. Is setting up a ODBC/DSN the next step?
Hopefully, someone will respond.
