In reply to: New admin users being created by someoneYep, and have a look how the standard role of new users is configured under general settings. If you allow user registration, they should never get admin status by default!
Make sure you default username isn’t “admin”, which makes it far easier for hacker to get in your site.

In reply to: Possible spam but not sure?It’s common with free mail services, if [email protected] is registered, John Doe goes for [email protected] and so on. That’s pretty much the only reason, if domain.com is a regular website, company not offering webmail services, it’s pretty fishy. Does anyone try to post links with these comments, either in the comment itself or in the URL field? Maybe even with “Cheap Refridgerators” as name instead of “Someone”?

In reply to: [Captcha] Hundreds of Holiday Spam BotsOr the bot learned to solve the captcha better. Unfortunately, these bots work with some sort of OCR that makes them read text in images. Recaptcha is pretty good, bots don’t seem to be able to solve it.
