Removing the plugin folder and replacing it with a new one would not delete the data, it’s saved in the database.
This seems like a Javascript error, so the link is broken and your browser just redirects you to the top of the page. If I find time, I’ll look into it – Maybe, just some syntax in JS has changed or it doesn’t support all browsers yet.
And please don’t get upset if I don’t answer within a few hours or days. 😉

It’s not that a big deal, just a bit AJAX & PHP – I’m sure you will get further looking into this yourself instead of using a base.
