Our team is happy to hear that MonsterInsights is a 5 star plugin, but we’re sorry to hear about our free version seeming not useful or feeling too limited.

With MonsterInsights Lite, you’re able to track and view critical site statistics (such as page views in the last 30 days, top posts and pages, etc) and automatically track the following custom events:

• Download link tracking
• Affiliate link tracking
• Outbound link tracking
• Telephone link tracking
• Email link tracking
• Custom link click events

We also include two summary reports: stats at a glance, and a monthly email report. This is alongside other useful tools like a headline analyzer, a UTM URL builder, a widget for displaying the most popular posts, to help increase site engagement. When making any changes to your site, you can also add a site note to help keep track of the impact it has on your analytics.

The step should just be to “exclude your domain as a referral in Google Analytics” to avoid issues with self-referrals. For more details on how to edit the Configure your domains settings, you can view this guide instead: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/10071811

I appreciate the details shared here. I’ve gone ahead and reported the issue to our developers so they can resolve it. Our team is currently in the middle of preparing a release and once that’s out, we’ll be focusing on the next update that will likely include a patch to resolve this warning.

I’m not able to say exactly when the fix for this will be released, as it’s currently being planned, but we appreciate you for bringing this to our attention!

Although there’s no current resolution for the warning, it will not affect the MonsterInsights plugin functionality or performance.
