Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry for the trouble here.
The “shortcode displaying as text” symptom can happen if something prevented the plugin from initializing properly. To help us track down what’s going on, could you share:
- Your WordPress version and PHP version
- Your active theme
- A list of other active plugins, especially any page builders, caching, or security plugins
- Whether all galleries were affected, or only certain gallery types
If you have access to your PHP error log around the time of the update, anything that shows up there would be especially helpful for narrowing this down.

Yes, by default MonsterInsights doesn’t track logged-in Administrators or Editors, specifically so your own page edits and clicks don’t skew your stats.
If you’d like to confirm this or exclude any additional user roles, you can head to Insights ยป Settings ยป Advanced, and in the Permissions box you’ll find the “Exclude These User Roles From Tracking” option. Administrator and Editor are already selected there by default. If you decide to test your tracking is working, you’ll want to view your site logged out or in a private/incognito window.
