I am having a similar issue where restricted pages are still showing the restricted access message after a user has logged in.

If they refresh the page the content is visible but users don’t know this and are complaining.

Thanks @champsupertramp I have tried 2.2.3 and whilst it did stop the 404 being shown, it has interfered with the CSS and the page now showing isn’t laid out properly and labels are missing.

I also noticed the main menu becomes different on some pages and links to restricted pages in the menu don’t show the page title but are labeled like this “#213217 (no title)”

I have this same error, can anyone advise what is the cause or what to change to fix it?

I have resolved this by disabling GMagick.
Not sure why that causes the issue, it only started once I enabled MBString and GMagick so disabling GMagick fixed it.
