Ok, so HTML rewrite did it. I did however have to add the width and height of the img’s to my theme’s ‘custom css’ in the admin. Now only one image isn’t being served the retina version – the icon-trees-lg.png (in the sidebar). This is a css background image and what is weird is that it appears the other sidebar icon ‘mail-blue-35.png’ IS being served the retina image. Both images have the @2x version in the images folder. If you have time, maybe check this out? If not, I understand and appreciate your help anyway!

Okay, thanks for your help! The @2x images for my theme logo does exist, but I need to add it to the uploads folder. (just took care of that!) Here’s the other issue tho, the two ‘badges’ (fs and usda logos) in the top right corner of my header, are img’s that i’ve added to my header.php. They are being pulled from the images folder, and the @2x images are in that folder. Any thought as to why those aren’t being switched out?
Also, it’s only the images in my header that I am concerned with – not the content images within the blog posts. sorry if I didn’t say that before!
Thanks for the reply. So, in my wp-content i have my theme, and in my theme i have an images folder – in the images folder i have the @2x images for the logo, the header badges, etc. How then, can they not be on the server? What am I missing here?

also, i have adjusted the cms media settings but nothing seems to adjust this using the custom_gallery. thanks!!

I am using the most recent version of FF (just updated it two days ago) and mac.
Actually, the problem seemed to be with the browser. I was using Firefox and the plugin was not working properly in many ways. When I switched to Chrome, everything worked.
