Thanks Philip for describing the memory issue. It was exactly the issue I was experiencing!
Thanks to Philip Ingram describing exactly what I was experiencing and giving the solution this issue has been solved. The memory limit was set too low so I added the following code to the wp-config.php file:

I’m using the Storefront theme. Could that be the issue?
In addition to my previous response I would also like to add that it doesn’t seem to matter if I select left, center or right align. The alignment doesn’t seem to change.
