In reply to: Cannot Moderate CommentsThanks! Problem just now solved. I discovered there was an error in the comments database in MySQL. Was able to repair it and things now seem restored. But thanks for your thoughts on this, James. Much appreciated.

In reply to: Corrupted Text and Images in New Postsesmi, I’ve now repaired the database tables and also optimized them. The problem persists. This morning I tried to make a new post, and the preview showed parts of the text missing, just as before.
I have also turned off all plugins to see if one of them was the culprit, but no change. Any other possibilities? My site has been running fine for eight years and suddenly this…

In reply to: Corrupted Text and Images in New Postsesmi, I haven’t repaired the tables in the database — not sure how to do this. I’ve had the site up for over eight years and use the Thesis theme. How do I go about table repair?

In reply to: Spam Karma CrashDone. Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, but all is now well. I appreciate your help! Before I even had to implement the above, my hosting provider stepped in and fixed the table in question at my request. But I now know how to do it myself. Very useful!

In reply to: Spam Karma CrashProblem — re your directions:
Log into phpMyAdmin.
Select your database from the pulldown on the left.
Click on the table giving errors.
Click on the “Operations” tab.
Towards the bottom is a “Repair table” link.I get to the Operations tab (and phpMyAdmin does indeed say the table is broken), but there is no ‘repair table’ link. And I can’t find repair in the menu structure. Any ideas? Thanks!

In reply to: Spam Karma CrashI’m also wondering about Spam Karma’s “Reset All Tables” button under “advanced options” in the menus. I would guess this would also re-do the MySQL file that’s causing the problem. Does anyone have any experience using this, and would it be preferable to trying to fix the problem through phpMyAdmin?

In reply to: Spam Karma CrashThanks! I’ll see what my host company says as well, but what you’ve outlined above sounds like it’s worth a go. Much appreciated.

In reply to: Spam Karma CrashI’ve got a support request in and am waiting on a response. I have no idea how to proceed if I need to repair something with phpMyAdmin, so I’m hoping the host may be able to handle it from there. Am also open to any other ideas or tips from those who see this. Is it difficult to repair a MySQL database?
