    Thanks very much for your help. I do not have access to such parameters on the server and as it is a free service I can’t request the hosting provider to make them. I will try to find an alternative way to migrate / rebuild the website.

    I had cleaned up the old files but I don’t think one was created at step 2.

    In any case I upgraded to 1.2.9 and tried a full back up again which failed with error code BMI-yV6ATiS7-02281

    I then tried doing the three separate backups

    1. Make one backup:
      – Without database
      – With Plugins+Themes+Other files in wp-content directory only

    Succeeded

    2 With Uploads directory only

    Failed – BMI-YPuZFAyP-63318

    But a backup file was created!

    3 With database only

    Succeeded

    I now need to see if I can restore them successfully at my new host but due to other commitments will not be able to do that before the weekend.

    When I do I will let you know how I got on.

    First step was ok but failed again on the 2nd step (uploads directory). I tried it twice so there are two error log records BMI-tzcol4WF-88136 and BMI-6R2iltFk-03834

    Sorry – I was away a lot of last week and had not been able to try these steps yet. I will try to do so later today or tomorrow and let you know.

    Thanks again – got a lot further this time (the progress bar got to 100%) but still ended with an error:

    BMI-5PBx5eSR-32962

    I check with the cpanel of the hosting site and disk space should not be the issue:

    Disk Quota:5 GB

    Disk Space Used:781 MB

    Disk Free:4751 MB

    Inodes Used:45 % (13602 of 30019)

    Thanks for your very clear explanation. I followed these steps but got this error – BMI-1oGxD7Dy-37913
