Hey Marko55,
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience here, we really appreciate that! 🙂
Have a great day!
Hey there,
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
By crash the server, what do you mean?
Was this a white page? And what were the errors within your server log which pointed to WP Smush being the only cause?
AThere is another problem with the plugin:
I have an image with 207 kb. When I smush the image it says “Smushed by 167 kb (8%)”. Obviously this is total nonsense. Is there any chance you could provide that image (the original one), and a screenshot of the Smush screen showing the compression. I’d love to take a look and test it. We’re always looking to improve our API and plugin.
As for the price, it’s totally free to use this version. I get you’re referring to our premium API but don’t totally understand how that factors into a review of the free API which is what’s available from ww.wp.xz.cn, if you could please elaborate further.
Take care.

In reply to: [Smush – Image Optimization, Compression, Lazy Load, WebP & CDN] Doesnt workHey there Liliz,
You mentioned it didn’t work, but didn’t say if you were getting any errors, if it was connecting, or what was occurring.
To make this review system more helpful and useful for all users, could you please let us know further details. Or if you have a ticket open, please provide a link. I didn’t see any tickets on your profile.
Take care.
Hey there spilbo
Did the update work for you?
Just wanted to check in and see how you’re going. 🙂
Take care.
We’re no longer bulk Smushing through Yahoo, we use our own servers now. Would love if you give it another go, should work much more smoothly 🙂
If you’re happy, would love to see an updated review 🙂
Take care.
We’re now processing those images through our own servers, if you fancy giving it another go you should see some huge improvements to speed. The issue before was due to Yahoo’s service.
Hoping to win back some of those stars on your rating. 🙂

In reply to: [Smush – Image Optimization, Compression, Lazy Load, WebP & CDN] Great start!Just wanted to drop a quick update 🙂
We’ve now done some huge enhancements, it no longer uses Yahoo’s services (they discontinued them). Bulk Smushing is no longer buggy, hopefully that will get us another star back 😉
Take care.
We hear ya! 🙂
You can now signup for WP Smush Pro as a single plugin, so you no longer require a full membership for the Pro version.
Have a fantastic day.

In reply to: [Smush – Image Optimization, Compression, Lazy Load, WebP & CDN] uninstalledHey there Ann98,
Not sure how that happened, would love to see some logs of that, information on time to first byte for your site:
I’m thinking you were getting the increase whilst connecting to the Yahoo’s Smush service (waiting for a response) which is no longer online. Sadly Yahoo discontinued their service without prior notice.
We’ve just released an all new API of our own, this is much quicker than our previous one. If you could please give it another shot, you shouldn’t have an issue.
If you do have any problems, please open a support ticket and we’ll gladly help you with that:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wp-smushit
Looking forward to getting this turned around for you.
Take care.
Hey there Amar,
As shown on the project screen, Yahoo turned off their Smush.it service.
Good news though, we’ve now just released our own free API version. You can now start smushing for free again! 🙂

Hopefully you’ll give it a try, love it, and revisit that review/rating again. 🙂
Take care.
Hey there,
It seems like Yahoo’s Smush.it service has been abondanded, we’re pleased to announce that we’re now running our own free version. You can continue to use our plugin, the difference is that the plugin now uses our own API rather than Yahoo’s.
We’ve put a lot of work and investment into developing a free service. It wasn’t easy to turn it around in such a short space of time either, we had people working around the clock configuring servers, developing, testing, etc.
We hope you like it. 🙂
Take care.
Hey there,
First of all, apologies for the issue you faced and thank you for posting this here. Generally anything regarding premium services need to be handled away from ww.wp.xz.cn. That’s their policy rather than ours.
I’m happy to take a look though, and I have. I see David has been dealing with you regarding this matter, but I still wanted to take a moment to respond personally.
Occasionally with coupons the session expires for whatever reason and the discount is not applied. Where that happens we’re always happy to either refund the difference to what it should have been, or the total amount if that’s desired. Usually to refund the total amount our email guys just need to run it up the ladder which he did. We like to investigate to make sure there are no technical issues which might affects others, or in the rare cases someone uses everything on our service first.
With regards to emails bouncing, I’m not sure what happened there but we use Help Scout to manage our emails. The first one I see from you was at 1644, then 1739. David’s first response was then 1820, and then later that day he followed up at 2344 before he logged off. I think Help Scout might show those timestamps in my timezone.
Your full refund has been processed already, we use Stripe for credit cards, it should be back with you soon. Please note that this can take a couple of days.
I’m really sorry we were unable to turn this experience around for you, it’s really not the experience we aim to provide. As a way of apology, I left your account open for a month so that you can still use Smush if you wish to give it a shot.
Have a great day.

In reply to: [Smush – Image Optimization, Compression, Lazy Load, WebP & CDN] SheetCould you elaborate further please?
It would be great if whilst using the review feature on ww.wp.xz.cn that you provide a good overview of why you rated like you did. Simply saying ‘Bad plugin’ doesn’t help the developer(s), and it doesn’t help people looking to make an educated choice of whether the plugin would suit them or not.
I also couldn’t find any tickets from you where we’ve tried to assist with any issue you might have. Would be worth popping one open:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wp-smushit
One thing to keep in mind with this plugin is that although we develop it, it’s using the Yahoo service called Smush.it. If there is a problem with their service, It’s out of our control and it will affect your usage of this plugin.
Have a great day!
