    Today I tried to update plugins normally (by clicking on update) and its working. I think there is something wrong with the server, which is now solved.

    This issue is not for a particular plugin, but for all plugins. I also can’t install a new plugin. Also this was there when I was trying to upgrade WordPress version.

    When I try to update a plugin, it gives “critical error” message and the backend also stop working with same error message. I notice that it creates a file “.maintanance” in root directory. I delete the file and website start working again.

    PHP version 8.3.26 (Supports 64bit values)
    Database Extension mysqli
    Server version 5.7.42-log
