And how do you check it’s working? through the wordpress profile field or through an em action (like sending new booking email to admin)…

I have the same problem. I figured out it only works when you enter the website adress in the format : http://www.example.com/subdirectory/ ; example.com/subdirectory/ or http://example.com/subdirectory/ does not work.

For those who seeking for a solution I have found a workaround by setting the newsletters to send at a certain time everyday. Still, the category has to be selected otherwise it is not going to work!

I am sorry I have been quite busy last week.
I don’t really know what you mean with a step by step guide but I will try to explain myself likewise:
1) If you have EM in version (5.5.5) and events page as home page , then when you want to get to the blog page, this one cannot appear and show the message :
Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /*mywebsite*/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1193.
This is the case in my production site :
– http://www.jugaralsquashenmadrid.com (to have a look at the home page)
– http://jugaralsquashenmadrid.com/category/el-blog/ (the corresponding blog page)2) If you have EM in version (5.5.2) and events page as home page , then the blog page appears correctly.
This is the case in my test site :
– http://www.everywhereleague.esy.es/pruebas/ (home page)
– http://everywhereleague.esy.es/pruebas/category/el-blog/(the corresponding blog page)3)If you do not have EM events page as home page, then the blog page is appearing correctly.
Finally I have tried to see if it was related to any other plugin or theme related, I had no change :
– EM manager plugin (5.5.5) only : No blog page
– EM manager plugin (5.5.5) only and various themes : No blog page
– EM manager plugin (5.5.2) only and various themes : Blog page OKHope it can help, but please give me an example for a step by step guide so I can figure it out.

When I put the events page in front page of my website, the blog page is not available and shows the message as previously written. This disapears if I use any other page in front page.
If I use the 5.5.5 version I have the problem. Not with the 5.5.2
