was there a reason this was removed, adding this manually wastes more time than scanning.

I have already done the above, I have also asked for a developer to have a look at my site, and am told it’s a plugin issue.
how can I resolve this?
in order to add the tracking number, I need to scroll to the bottom, for to ‘add notes’, scan the tracking here, and then copy and paste to the ‘shipment tracking’ section.
previously, we would scan the bar code here, and customer would be sent their tracking number email.
