Another thing to mention: I created a non-admin IAM user in S3 with the policy that was suggested in the UpdraftPlus FAQ. I tested that user’s capability by uploading and downloading a file to the bucket with the aws cli, and it worked. That user is the one I’m using for Updraft, and it’s ID and Key are the ones in the WP settings.

I have a similar problem.
I’m using dynamically created categories, so slightly different issue. But maybe seeing your solution will give me a little spark of insight into how I should do it.
