In reply to: [iPages - FlipBook Image & PDF Viewer] It worked great, for a momentThat should make it more transparent.
Also, if I’m not mistaken you are working on a landscape mode, something that would expand usability for book layouts and there are also, as I’m sure yoiu know, lots of pdf documents in landscape.
Last question for clarification, the pro version purchase comes with lifetime updates?

In reply to: [iPages - FlipBook Image & PDF Viewer] It worked great, for a momentThanks for looking into it. Chrome, Explorer and Opera it was all the same. I deleted the book, then recreated it from scratch and now I see it working, so something caused it to go blank, but I wish I could replicate it.
One comment on the free version: while you do state (down under) one can use free version for only one book, I would not call this bit as prominently displayed. I did not see it, then when second project was attempted I found out a confirmation. At the same time I could NOT find such thing on plugins site and there is no reason to hide this and in fact’, I would suggest adding a short section detailing free vs. pro version.
I like how it works, so when I get to a point of needing it on larger scale I will have no trouble paying current price. It would probably help, if you had a volume discount though for those who maintain more than one site. Just my 2 cents. It is slick and functional for what my opinion is worth.

In reply to: What happens during restore from backupGreat again, this leaves me with few options to try. It may to have to wait due to FTP restricted access from where I am now, but thanks to your replies I have much better understanding of what to anticipate. Thanks.

In reply to: What happens during restore from backupOne more question I have is:
how does restoring database ONLY, reflect on the site operation, meaning the site itself is NOT fully restored from back up, but rather the database only, and the are differences in not only content but also plugins installed and/or activated, different WP versions etc. Can this approach create conflicts?

In reply to: [iPages - FlipBook Image & PDF Viewer] It worked great, for a momenthave removed pdf embedder part from the linked test page, so far nothing is changing, nothing in coming up

In reply to: What happens during restore from backupThanks a lot bcworkz, really appreciate the time taken to answer in a such a detail. Looks like I have a few ways of trying to fix this and will probably first take the table renaming route.
I’m also reshaping the plugin map all around, so perhaps that will lead me to the live preview problem. Have deleted all no longer supported plugins, but no change yet. For the time being I’ll try a few things and return here if more questions come up.

In reply to: What happens during restore from backupAnd here is another question:
Looking at mySQL tables in cpanel I can RENAME a table. WOUldn’t I be able to
1. rename current table (which is same named as the backed up one)
2. dump table from back up file
3. see how it links up to the site
4. if one from back up does not work as expected, delete it (or rename it)
5. rename table from point 1 back to original nameWouldn’t above steps allow me to essentially toggle between two tables? Or is there something else happening with rename function that practically breaks up connection with related files and renaming back will NOT restore all those inner connects?
This would allow me to manually install all removed media file in one step and play with SQL table entries in another but with safe fall back to current state affairs, unless I am wrong thinking that of course.

In reply to: What happens during restore from backupLet me ask this instead of above: say (using the back up, so called complete back-up), I first completely delete WP from public_html as well as SQL table linked to it, then run a restore from that full back-up.
Am I correct saying that this would bring back (as recorded in the complete back-up) WP version and all files, and restoring SQL table would essentially close the loops and site would (should) appear as when it was last seen at back-up time?
I could do this under a different domain just to try it out and then look into either migrating to previous domain or redo the restore at new location again.

In reply to: What happens during restore from backupThanks bcworkz, that explains a lot. Need to clarify as I was not all that clear on one point: the backup was created, after which users other then myself where allowed to delete their entries, which they only did through dashboard, their user accounts were then deleted by same method, so I suppose the latter also removed SQL tables entries for all deleted users?
Looks I’ll have to look into manual restore of deleted users, at least check into that drop table if I can find it without blowing it all up.
But also site is now under latest WP version and backed-up was like 4.1. The huge jump in version must have created another problem, as in most (not all) themes Live Preview works, but does not actually show a pimp of preview, only customization elements, so changes can be made, just without seeing what they are doing until actual site is viewed.

In reply to: .htaccess causing redirect problemsCase closed in a sense of my problem, but I think anyone with some input on this issue could still help somebody, especially since I do not know what was done to fix it.

In reply to: .htaccess causing redirect problemsProblem has been solved by my host, however I’ve never found out what they did to fix it.

In reply to: .htaccess causing redirect problemsAnd just to anticipate, this has started BEFORE any plugins (other than default ones) were installed

In reply to: .htaccess causing redirect problemsLet me add that a permalink reset does NOT make a difference.
