    My question in fact is: for each different category, could I have a different CSS file and a different template?

    Thank you for the responses.

    I would prefer not to use WP MU. The pains associated with them seem to be hardly worth it for a straight-forward art gallery website. I am not looking for “multiple users”.

    Imagine a top navigation bar as follows:

    —-> Introduction / Artists / Gallery / Events / Blog

    The look and feel of the website in the Artists section will be different from Gallery, you see. The Events section will have a calendar type look. The Blog can look like a regular blog.

    However, the top navigation bar etc will be the same, because that is how a website looks! I could have these sections as “Categories” in my WP, but my question then is: can I have different designs for different Categories? I would like some elements to be different, with a common base design.

    I am comfortable with PHP and CSS, and templating systems. I just need to know where to begin.

    So far, I have downloaded some themes, but they’re geared towards a very generic blogging type audience. An art gallery’s website cannot look like a blog.

    Thanks!

    I was told WP forums were better than MT forums which collect cobwebs for weeks before someone replies.

    I am not seeing the difference so far.

    Am I not asking this correctly?

    The search function does not lead to much, so I’m simply looking for pointers.

    Shirohagen, I quite like this site. I am especially impressed with how you managed different template for different “sections” in the top bar.

    1. How did you manage this? Are these different “blogs”, or categories/pages in the same blog?

    2. What gallery plugin are you using?

    Thanks for any tips!
