transfering the quotes should be possible, but “Quotes Illama” has some unique fields which won’t work.
But if you mainly have text, you can try it like that.

In Quotes Illama under “Manage” Tab -> Export Quotes (Backup) -> click Export .csv
Install eg the Ultimate CSV Importer Free (Plugin) and upload/import the .csv you have created. (Easy Quotes has to be installed already) Than you see on the next page “Import each record as” -> Select “quote” from the dropdown menu.

Now you can match some fields from your quotes illama .csv to the new easy quotes fields.
Match
“Title” -> title_name
“Content” -> quote

You can take a look if you want to match more information from the csv.
But as said, Illama has some special fields like author_icon or source_icon, which are not available in my plugin.

Hi Earl_D,

there is no special block in Easy Quotes from my side, but because Quotes is a Custom Post Type, you can simply use the standard WordPress “Query Loop”-Block to show eg only titles.
With wordpress block themes you can also create a Archives/Index-Page (index page) for all of your Quotes… Appearance->Editor->Templates->Add Template -> Category Archives (quote-category).

ok, i think i found the error, and uploaded a new version 1.0.8
can you try it, if it’s working for you now?

But maybe erase the old plugin first completely with the db tables. So you have no junk data in it.
Under Dashboard->Settings->Media is a checkbox for “Delete Data – All data that the plugin has added or collected will be deleted when uninstalling.”
So just tick that -> hit Save Changes and uninstall the plugin completely, then reinstall the new version.

Can you report back, if it’s working for you now?

There already are some options to bulk upload content, not implemented by my plugin, but either with standard wordpress import. found in the admin sidebar under tools -> import / export
If that isn’t working for you, there are some other plugins that can handle upload from a lot of different sources.

if the font is not in the typography settings, which are all available google fonts, your only option is to add some custom css.

In the advanced tab you can add a css class to your quote. eg QUOTE CSS CLASS(ES): la-quote my-font
then add some custom css like:
.my-font {
font-family: whatever-theme-font-you-are-using !important;
}

Yes, bold won’t work. Only one font is installed for the quote text. That’s in a way the principle of this plugin.
You have just a short snipped of text, without any styling. Then choose a font.
Like:
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.

You choose a font, whatever it may be, bold, italic, slim, thick… But that’s it. This font is applied to the quote text.
Many google fonts, especially the handwritten fonts, come with only one thickness… “normal” 400

Bold would usually be 700.
If you really need a bold in a quote you have to install this fonts per wordpress. Since version 6.7, i think, wordpress comes with a font installer. Install the missing fonts there, then it should work.

Say you want Open Sans in normal bold, normal italic, bold italic, just install those 4 fonts. 400, 700, 400 italic, 700 italic.

hm, it seems to be sometimes clickable and sometimes not.
But it has nothing to do with my plugin.

Look at the text you’ve added as a quote.

This may cos the problem. You can try this.

Click on Quotes and edit one.

On the right/top of the text editor is a tab toggle “Visual | Code”. Click on Code an inspect your text.
You will see something like the text before.

In the code you should only insert plain text. Then you could go over to the visual tab and style it like you want.
You seem to have copied the text from another website and with it came all those <span class=”fontstyle3″… These are most likely classes from another website, so they may interfere with your site.
