I figured it out! Was trying to use it on a non-production site which had restricted IP access. Once I allowed the IP address of our server to access…itself (!), it worked.
Hope this helps others out there. 🙂

Thanks for the input. I did try re-installing the plugin, but it still does the same thing. I get the animated spinning wheel and then a checkmark. But, no backup file is created, and no errors are provided.
The backup folder, however, is created. I can only assume something is failing. Our file backup size is usually under 35MB, so we really shouldn’t be running into capacity issues.
Also, an older version of the plugin is still working fine for an older version of WP on production site.
Have noticed other users experiencing something similar recently in the forum too.
