Are you running a browser security plugin in your browser? I have had this issue on many different wordpress websites. I have narrowed it down by disabling the browser security plugin when I run the wizard. I had issue with Chrome and Edge using either plugin from Malwarebytes and McAfee. I turn back on my browsers security plugins after I finish set up. Then don’t hit the woocommerce home button again and ignoring the woocommerce home page.

I suggested they have the wizard as a separate menu item instead of having it in the home link, so that I can actually use the home link page.

I would be glad to leave a review – thank you for your time.

Knowing that so many people are experiencing the same issue as I – I still really feel that if you separate out the wizard from the home link and WooCommerce link and provide a wizard link in the menu under Home, you would eliminate a HUGE amount of frustration for all of us. Not to mention the amount of time each of us has had to put in trying to figure out what was wrong.

Nothing more frustrating when you try to look at the Woocommerce home page in your WordPress and you get a wizard saying you need to do it again. Obviously with the millions of users who want browsers protection are going to find this annoying. And it was not just one browser and not just one security plugin but in total four different companies software.

If Woocommerce is not willing to fix what is probably in their own software, then by doing the above suggestion would be a good temporary fix for all who use the product.

Exciting news – I think I found the issue – it’s McAfee Web Advisor and Malwarebytes Browser Guard browser plugins. When these browser plugins are active, you get redirected to the WooCommerce setup wizard when you click “WooCommerce” or “Home” links. I have circled the menu links in the image below.

Here are my results when I tested different scenarios.

    1. McAfee browser plugin active in Chrome = redirects to Wizard.
    2. McAfee browser plugin active in Edge = redirects to Wizard.
    3. Malwarebytes browser plugin active in Chrome = redirects to Wizard.
    4. Malwarebytes browser plugin active in Edge = redirects to Wizard.
    5. In both browser plugins I listed the wordpress website as a safe site and tried the test again – both Chrome and Edge redirected to Wizard.
    6. When I turned off McAfee browser plugin in Chrome and in Edge – then Woocommerce “home” link would work and not redirect.
    7. When I turned off Malwarebytes browser plugin in Chrome and in Edge – then Woocommerce “home” link would work and not redirect.

So I guess I would hope that Woocommerce would try to figure out why these safety browser plugins conflict with the Woocommerce Home Link in the WordPress menu. I don’t trust not having a malwarebytes or mcafee browser plugin these days. To help keep my system protected, I feel this important to have them active.

Maybe a fix could be the wizard only comes up if you click a NEW link under Woocommerce menu section called “Wizard” and not have it on the Woocommerce Home link pages. I hope that makes sense.

Here is pictures of the links that trigger to the set-up wizard instead of going to the Woocommerce page.

Same issue – getting the below:

Customer sees “duplicate invoice id” – I get in order notes it says “Paypal Credit Card Payment Failed with message: “.
Sometime the error in order notes is:
Paypal Credit Card Payment Failed with message: ‘The transaction was refused as a result of a duplicate invoice ID supplied. Attempt with a new invoice ID’

please add me to the list of people having this issue

using WooCommerce 5.6.0 – woocommerce paPal Pro 2.9.8

I did lots of experimenting – I installed several different php insert type plugins and they all turned out to have the same problem. So I concluded maybe there was a conflict with one of my other plugins. I uninstalled several plugins and finally narrowed it down to the “Gutenberg Forms” plugin. Once I uninstalled it, the different php insert type plugins seem to be working properly. So that is my tidbit of info for those who might be experience the same issue I had.

    Have a happy blessed day!

I have installed this twice, thinking I did something wrong. Using Multisite WordPress – on the individual sites it does not show a link in the toolbar to allow the use of notes in the dashboard. Can not find any setting to allow it. Bummer – I really needed something like this.
