Ahhhh should have just looked in the error logs to start with ! It was the mail chimp plug in.
With it installed and deactivated the error persisted… had to delete the entire plugin and then presto can delete variations normally and also use bulk delete.
yep did the conflict test twice ..went right back to just a basic woocommerce template and only woocommerce plugin on same just hangs .. very weird as wasn’t doing it last week and no new plugins installed .
