Hi @tjerk79,
Please update to the latest version, 12.1, and let us know if the issue persists. The latest update includes some changes regarding the snippet preview.
We are looking forward to your reply.
Hi @anusha75,
Twitter caches URLs which have been previously posted. Thus, if a URL has been posted before (before setting the Twitter image tags), it will not crawl the URL again to see these changes. Unlike Facebook, Twitter does not allow clearing the cache through the sharing debugger.
However, there is a workaround by adding query strings to your URLs. Thus, when adding them, Twitter will consider them new URLs and will scrape the page for tags instead of using the cached ones.
For example, you can use these URLs with query strings, to make the social media networks to crawl the page again:
- Twitter: https://www.indianmemoryproject.com?utm_source=twitter
- WhatsApp: https://www.indianmemoryproject.com?utm_source=whatsapp
You can use any other query string too. I used these ones as they’re also valid parameters for Google Analytics. You could just use
?1as the query string and it should work the same. Does this fix your issue?Hi @ibilaljahangir,
Your website is getting indexed, as seen here.
We understand you’re referring to your website not ranking high for the chosen focus keyphrases. Unfortunately, we cannot assist you with this request. Using Yoast SEO does not guarantee specific rankings.
You’re asking for specific SEO advice, unfortunately, this forum is not the right place to do so. However, there is a lot of SEO advice on Yoast.com in the SEO blog and the dev blog.
Alternatively, you can check out our training courses and our consultancy services.
Hi @sitiwebagencyeu,
We’ve inspected the URLs which show the
Media error: Format(s) not supported or source(s) not found. mejs.download-file: https://www.sitiwebagency.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Home.mp4. 00:00.
error in Google. They all seem to have a correct meta description generated by Yoast SEO, but Google does not seem to be able to find it.
If you inspect any of these URLs in Google Search Console, do you get any error messages?
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @karimessam,
Please send us one URL where you are getting this issue so that we can check if it exists in the XML Sitemaps or not.
In addition, can you confirm that the XML sitemap that you have submitted to Google Search Console is sitemap_index.xml?
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @ibilaljahangir,
Just to be sure we understand correctly, where exactly is your website not showing up? In Google search results, or in Google Search Console?
We have inspected your website, it is indexed in Google (as seen here).
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @40andholding,
Thanks for letting us know. It might be a new bug on their end. If you are already using the latest version of W3 Total Cache, I recommend contacting them and let them know of this error.
If there’s indeed an incompatibility between W3 Total Cache and Yoast SEO, I’m confident they will be happy to fix it (thus you wouldn’t have to switch to a different plugin).
You can find a list of recommended site speed tools here, including 2 caching plugins.
Hi @ewe812,
It is not normal for the og:image tag to be different per browser. One of your browsers must be showing the source from its cache, which would explain why they’re different. Please follow this guide to clear the browser cache (I believe FireFox is where you are seeing the cached version).
In regards to the og:image, I’ve inspected the homepage and I too found this URL: https://pixelled.com/pyca/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/porch-roller-curtains-1.gif
What is the image URL shown at SEO → Social → Facebook → Frontpage settings → Image URL? It should similar to this image.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @pr0ject10n,
You can switch between SEO title and meta description through the tabs located at the top, as in this image. It is part of Yoast SEO (free version) too.
If the existing Yoast SEO title field is empty, then it means you did not set a custom title, but you are using the one generated through variables (at SEO → Search Appearance).
Hi @mktgessentials,
Did you use the same image for Facebook as for Twitter? If so, the issue is that the image is too small. When you choose this image for Facebook, you should get a message that the image is too small, as seen here.
Your image’s dimension is 300×91. Facebook requires that the images are at least 200×200, as seen here.
Try replacing the image with a larger one (or resize the current one) so that it meets Facebook’s requirements.
We hope to have cleared things up for you and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions.
Hi Megan,
We’ve inspected your URL, the 301 redirect is correct. Also, if a page has both a rel canonical tag and a 301 redirect, search engines will only see the redirect (as they follow the page immediately and do not crawl the page first, to find the rel canonical tag).
In your case, the issue is that
https://www.pearsonkoutcherlaw.com/workers-compensation-blog/2012-what-a-year-for-philadelphia-workers-comp-law-firm-pearson-koutcher-llp/has 2 rel canonical tags. This is not related to the 301 redirect fromhttps://www.pearsonkoutcherlaw.com/2012-what-a-year-for-philadelphia-workers-comp-law-firm-pearson-koutcher-llp/.If you check the source of thix page and search for “canonical”, you will find 2 rel canonical tags. This is incorrect, a page should have only one rel canonical tags.
The first rel canonical tag is not generated by Yoast SEO and is causing issues. You can see it here.
If you are using other plugins to create/set rel canonical tags, we recommend to stop doing so (or uninstall those plugins) and use Yoast SEO’s feature to set rel canonical tag instead.
We hope to have cleared things up for you.
Hi @victorwanq,
The feature to export all URLs and their focus keyphrases is part of Yoast SEO Premium only. It looks like this.
Hi @anusha75,
Please give us more details on where exactly you are posting the links and the image is not the one you have set with Yoast SEO. If applicable, please send us screenshots too, so we may better understand what’s wrong.
We are looking forward to your reply.
Hi @winterstreet,
Unfortunately, at the moment, it is not possible to add an unordered list inside the FAQ block. A feature request is currently open with our product team for this, but no decision has been made yet.
Hi Megan,
Are you using Yoast SEO (free) or Yoast SEO Premium? We ask as the redirect manager is part of Yoast SEO Premium only, but the ww.wp.xz.cn forums are for support with the free plugin only.
If you’re using Yoast SEO Premium, please follow this page on how to get personal support.
If you are experiencing this issue with Yoast SEO, please send us the URL(s) where you are getting this warning, so that we can check these redirects.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
