Hi Gérald,
Yoast SEO will noindex all of your website’s search results pages. It is not possible to index all but 1 search results pages. It might be better to have a separate page dedicated to that query, rather than using the search results.
Hi @dancer7070,
That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:
1. Make sure the issue persists when Yoast SEO is the only plugin enabled.
2. Check for conflicts.
3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.
If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.Hi @pdana,
In Google Search Console → Index → Sitemaps, do you get any errors? In addition, when was the XML Sitemap last read?
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @glashsix,
I’ve inspected the URL and it does indeed have the title doubled. Please also send us a screenshot from the snippet editor, where the title for that post is. I’d like to make sure that the title variable is written just once.
We are looking forward to your reply.
@digitalstrategist in your case, XML Sitemaps seem to be disabled completely. Please go to SEO → General → Features and make sure that XML Sitemaps are enabled. If the issue persists, please open a new topic, as this one is about a different issue.
@yoursiteguru I’ve also checked the XML Sitemaps, each of them loaded fine. If you’ve managed to fix this issue in the meantime, please mark this topic as resolved.
Hi @bspark,
The error message suggests that Google cannot access your website. It does not say anything about the verification code not being found (or is invalid).
Are you blocking the search engines through your robots.txt file?
If not, if you are using any security plugins, we recommend temporarily disabling them and try again. If the issue persists, it would be best to contact your hosting provider to further investigate why Google cannot access your server.

Hi @telugubulletin,
You are correct. Setting both those toggles to No means that your media attachment pages can be accessed, but they will not be indexed in the search results.
As they will have the noindex tag set, Google will eventually remove them from its index too.
Hi Fahim,
Thanks for following up. You are correct, there’s a known issue with Gutenberg and the latest version of Chrome. It is expected to be fixed in the next WordPress update.
In the meantime, there are a few workarounds:
1)Downgrade Google Chrome to the previous version
2)Use a different browser, such as Firefox
3)Add this PHP Snippet to your theme’s functions.php file
4)Install the latest version of the Gutenberg plugin, it already includes the fixAny of these 4 options will work. I’ll mark this topic as resolved, as the issue is not on Yoast SEO’s side, but with Gutenberg.
Hi @gbarbs96,
That would explain the warnings. We recommend you to ignore them, it will not be an issue from an SEO point of view. Google will crawl be able to determine where the first paragraph starts.
Hi @darkallman,
Thanks for letting us know! If you do experience any other issues, please submit a new topic.
@jsnowbusiness the primary category feature is used in the breadcrumbs (if you’re using Yoast SEO breadcrumbs instead of WooCommerce’s). It still makes sense to use it, depending on the permalink structure for products.
In regards to changing the permalink feature being removed, I do believe you are right, also this was a few years ago, not recently.
If you believe this feature should be part of Yoast SEO (free version), please submit a feature request on GitHub.

Hi @darkallman,
It seems that something went wrong with the update and some files might be missing. In this case, we’d recommend updating again to the latest version through FTP, as in this guide.
Alternatively, if you have access to your admin dashboard, you can delete and reinstall Yoast SEO. All of the data and settings are saved in the database, so they should remain even after reinstalling the plugin.
Does this fix your issue?
We are looking forward to your reply.
Hi Kimberly,
Menu items can be anything from URLs to widgets, carts, search bars, etc. Menu items do not get added in the XML Sitemaps and never were.
If you are referring to the URLs which you have in the menu, then they could be shown in the XML Sitemaps, but not because they’re in the menu. They would get listed in their corresponding XML Sitemap (if it’s a page, it would get listed in /page-sitemap.xml).
If you can send us one or more URLs which you expected to be in the XML Sitemaps, we’ll be happy to check out why they’re missing.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
