We have a much more elaborate checkout method used on another site by the same foundation, as one that sells tickets, so we just used woocommerce across the board. Thanks for the help.

What you have to do is first create your front page. Lets say you create a new page called “Home”. Then go into your Settings > Reading and set “front page” to “Home” and then you will have a static front page where you can use these widgets. In reading I also suggest to select the page you wish to use for blog.

In reply to: Creating a new folder at root caused site to breakYes this is not a wordpress issue, I create folders all the time in my root, even wp-admin and wp-content and never have had an issue like this.
Try putting the folder in your wp-content/uploads (Uploads) folder instead, then link to that, if that still gives you an issue its for sure a server issue.

If so go into your cPanel / Control Panel and go into your phpMyAdmin.
From there select your database on the left, then select the wordpress table called “users”. You will then see a list of the users on the site, click on your main user (admin) and you will then see a field where you can edit the password. Put in your new password BUT MAKE SURE you select from the dropdown box to the left of it “MD5” then click GO in the bottom right to apply the changes.
You then should be able to login again.

Did you have a child theme that you might be forgetting about? its best to remove a theme directly from the FTP if its giving you issues, make sure you enable the default (twentyeleven) first though. What kind of changes did you do, all I can think of is the database might somehow be holding onto it?
I am having this exact same issue, adding in
<script>location.href="http://www.yoursite.com/wp-signup.php"; </script>worked but I would also like to see if anyone has a answer.
