In reply to: [PHP Code Widget] Requires Accessibility ModeAccessibility Mode is enabled or disabled from the WP pull down Screen Options menu at the top of the Admin Page when using Appearance > Widgets.
WP-Beginner has a tutorial: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-wordpress-widgets-in-accessibility-mode/
The plugin does not seem to work unless Accessibility Mode is turned on for Widgets. When Accessibility Mode is turned off the plugin will not change. I’ve tried it on a couple of sites. Same issue.
Using a Genesis Theme with latest WP. This is the only plugin that seems to demand Accessibility Mode. Strange.

In reply to: [Contextual Related Posts] MyISAM to InnoDB ProblemThat explains why there was a problem converting the CRP indexed tables to InnoDB. I’m running 5.5.48-MariaDB. Close, but no cigar. I like CRP.
Any issues with running CRP’s tables as MyISAM concurrent with InnoDB?

In reply to: [Vevida Optimizer] Won't Convert wp_posts to InnoDBI can see the problems with doing updates. I use WP Remote to handle multiple sites. So, what does the Automatic Updates Settings actually do?

In reply to: [Vevida Optimizer] Won't Convert wp_posts to InnoDBI left the VO plugin running on a few sites. Does it ensure that checked plugins will update automatically?
That would be great.

In reply to: [Vevida Optimizer] Won't Convert wp_posts to InnoDBI’ve been working on this a few hours. VO doesn’t display an error when converting from MyISAM to InnoDB when a table will not convert. However, I dug into the DB and found that a few tables had a FULLTEXT INDEX (Contextual Related Posts plugin) for each post (title, content, etc.). In some cases, CRP cleaned up nice when Deactivated and Deleted, removed the index, and VO could convert to InnoDB. In other cases, a manual approach was necessary to remove the index from the DB tables.
Once the index was removed, VO worked fine and converted the MyISAM table to InnoDB with no problem.
The only issue with VO is that it did not return an error on the tables that did not convert to InnoDB. Other than that, great plugin.

In reply to: [Comet Cache] Cron Job to Clear CacheRaam, that worked very well, thank you. It would be great to have a scheduler in the Pro version, but this is a good start and easy enough to implement. So, I have a few questions regarding the Pro version that I haven’t found answers for.
1) Preloading/Auto Cache – when the cache is cleared (manually, or by the above mu-plugins and cron) does the Pro version begin to preload and auto cache a site’s pages again? Preloading overnight would be a plus.
2) Preloading/Auto Cache – does the auto cache start at the top of the sitemap XML file and go backwards? If so, how far? What settings apply?
3) Minimize HTML/CSS – how similar is this function on the Pro version to the Autoptimize plugin?
4) Preview Pro – I’ve only read the details on CC Preview for Pro; does that work as a trial? Or, is it just a look-see of the Controls?
Thanks.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Undo Previous Schedule SettingI deleted all. Then deleted Updraft. Then installed Updraft and setup Settings at a better time. A nice feature requisition would be an option to schedule the backups at a specific time; day, date, time.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Undo Previous Schedule SettingI see multiple Updraft events in WP Control. One scheduled for early evening (the last update to settings, as expected), and another scheduled in a couple of hours (the original settings).
Would it be safer and easier to deactivate and delete Updraft, then re-install with the proper settings?
And, thanks for the heads up on WP Control. Great utility.

In reply to: [Comet Cache] White Screen of DeathHere’s what I did to combat the problems.
First, I reinstalled ZenCache (must be the latest version; previous version did not work; when deleted manually it would invoke the White Screen of Death). Second, from within WordPress, install the latest Comet Cache (v 160223.1 worked). Third, activate Comet Cache. It will then deactivate ZenCache, and set itself up. Finally, delete ZenCache. That worked for me on problematic sites. There might be an issue with the ZenCache version before v160222 where something goes wonky when hitting the Delete button.

In reply to: [Comet Cache] White Screen of DeathI moved a few sites back to Version 160211.2 and that one works without TWSOD (the white screen of death).

In reply to: [Comet Cache] White Screen of DeathSame problem here on a dozen sites using ZenCache. The upgrade yields a ‘white screen of death’ and the site disappears. Deleting the new Comet Cache directory brings everything back. Even deleting ZenCache and not going through the upgrade process but installing Comet Cache v160223 yields the same result. White Screen of Death in PHP.
I’ve had to uninstall the whole shebang on all sites. The update to the latest version gives the same White Screen of Death.

In reply to: after upgrade to 4.4 media files are not showingSimilar problem here with Featured Images. On many sites I manage the Featured Image is grayed out. In checking code I found a corrupt image URL. On some sites it’s all the Featured Images, on other sites only a few, but it’s the same corrupted image URL.
I’ve deactivated all plugins, switched to the latest WP Themes (2016, 2015) and the corrupted URL persists. Then I added each plugin and the same problem with each remains.
The Featured Image URL is being corrupted somehow and it all started with WP 4.4.
Any other ideas?
Instead of the Featured Image URL being something like this:
http://mysite.com/images/uploads/2012/05/20120522-myimage.jpg
The corrupt URL looks like this:
http://mysite.com/images/uploads//home/site/public_html/images/uploads/2012/05/20120522-myimage.jpg
This problem has occurred on about seven sites so far, but in varying degrees. Some sites have every Featured Image link corrupted, other sites just a few, but the link corruption is the same and deactivating plugins and changing themes does not fix the problem.
UPDATE – This corrupted image URL problem exists with fresh installs of WP 4.4. The 4.4 update is bad.

In reply to: [Contextual Related Posts] Broken Under Genesis 2.2OK, from what I can see something in the most recent updates (WP, or Genesis, or GDDP, or CRP triggered the Styles setting to change from No Styles to Rounded Thumbnails. Changing it back again solved the problem.
Glad I could help. 😉
