there would be both a field for (before post name) post name inserted(after post name) and these would be automatically set rather than having to type the custom post each time. Also, these settings would be saved so I dont have to retype each time.

Try:
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin.
Then monitor the site for errors and see what happens.

I have this same issue, I installed the plugin and I cant see here is a screen cap of the settings tab

In reply to: [Plugin: WordPress Popular Posts] widget last seven days issueApparently if you change the sort posts by drop down to something other than comments it works. I don’t really get why but that is what I did and it works. I think total views is the most accurate.
I am using the widget and it is not following the seven days I selected. I have a post with details here. Any ideas?
