In reply to: [OtFm Gutenberg Spoiler - (or FAQ) collapse block] Abandoned?sure, but even the wordpress plugin site mentions:
This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.
so adding new tested versions or whatever in the metadata may help against things like this.

In reply to: [Advanced Custom Fields (ACF®)] Can I have the real ACF, please?that’s not exactly what happened.
It was much simpler.
Matt basically just took the entire entry of ACF on the repo, and only changed the author and files.that way reviews and more importantly, the install base are retained as wordpresses that have installed the ACF addon from this repo installed obviously check the entry on here whether to update and stuff.
there was no need to copy any reviews.
although by now SCF DOES have its individual listing tho likely because of the court order and considering that just a rebranded SCF Free doesnt have anything to compete with the original, Matt took it a step further and did a pretty much unpredecented move, he bypassed the Review Team and uploaded a rebrand of ACF PRO into that new listing, which while legal due to GPL, isnt what I would call ethical especially as the repo has mentioned that they wouldnt accept what are effectively reposts of premium plugins.

In reply to: [Secure Custom Fields] Absolutely appalling behaviourwell taking over the spot in the repo as they did originally is pretty bad, and this new plugin being here in the plugin repo despite WPorg specifically having said a few times that they do not allow forks of premium plugins to exist, I’d say it’s understandable to see this as hypocrisy.

In reply to: [Secure Custom Fields] Stolen Custom Fields?because allegedly Automattic is able to bypass the review Team

In reply to: [Advanced Custom Fields (ACF®)] Documentation?well it is the original again 🙂

In reply to: [Secure Custom Fields] Saves me a lot of timebut wasnt there iirc a guideline on wporg plugin repo that specifically disallowed forks of existing premium plugins?
Reminder: Forked Premium Plugins Are Not Permitted
also frankly especially in the way automattic has done all that is especially scummy.

In reply to: [Advanced Custom Fields (ACF®)] Can I have the real ACF, please?only since some hours ago, I guess the review is from shortly before the restoration.

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Google Drive?well that’s a problem
https://developers.googleblog.com/2022/02/making-oauth-flows-safer.html#disallowed-oobGoogle axed this kinda flow

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Google Drive?I already have 4.5.2 however it still seems to use the out of band (copy paste the auth code) mechanism that was recently axed
okay thanks, that helps (as long as the server can correctly see the state of HTTPS and stuff) with required extensions I guess you mean PHP extensions, right?
also “Sorry for the delay.”, lol it was sunday, no problem. it’s not like I am expecting 24/7 support with a 2 hour response time.
well I assume that the ajaxed further pages are not telling the browser that the CSSes from the spoiler plugin are needed
as I said multiple times. this would be confusing for people as in what to use and how to go around with it especially when for example also in the user list people are categorized as not having 2FA, while it’s just using 2FA from another plugin.
the problem is mainly from a UX perspective rather than a functional one.

In reply to: [AMP] Persistent object caching is not enabledmaybe there should be a bit more explanation because the link basically only says 2 things:
1) what is persistant cache
2) it’s commonly offered in managed WP hosting
https://make.ww.wp.xz.cn/hosting/handbook/handbook/performance/#object-cache
I would not reallc call that helpful.
when a info like this is spawned on the dashoard it might be helpful to give some info on how to actually get a cache for that running.

a picture says more than a thousand words.nobody asked for any 2FA options, I did not install Wordfence Login security, I just installed wordfence.
long story short this is confusing for people who do not know too much about all the stuff, and I do certainly not want 2 2FA solutions interfere with each other

this does remove the 2FA data, but not the option of 2FA. and I want to use a different plugin for 2FA instead and having 2 2FA options running around is pretty confusing for most people in my opinion.
also I want to note that I did NOT install the login security plugin, just wordfence.
