which gallery are you seeing the blown up images? are you using a thumbnail gallery or imagebrowser? do the images appear the same way in both gallery types? slideshow too?
what themes are you using? the reason i ask these questions, is because i am not experiencing this same error. i wonder why you guys are. what if you were to temp. switch to wp default theme? keep the other plugins deactivated.
curious to know if those of you who are experiencing this, can confirm the error is happening when only nextgen gallery is installed + activated and all other plugins are deactivated? you’ll also want to clear your cache after you deactivate all other plugins to make sure you see accurate results.
Which lightbox effect are you using? Also, what is your zoom setting at in your browser?
if you enable flash, under gallery > options > slideshow, and select ‘show navigation bar’, you’ll have captions + navigation in your slideshow. that way you don’t have to use the imagebrowser.
hope that helps.
what almost always works for me, is to deactivate all plugins except the one that stopped working for me, in this case for you guys – nextgen, and clear your browser cache and reload your site. also make sure you’re running the latest version of wordpress. check your site with all plugins deactivated (except nextgen) in all browsers. if nextgen works now, activate the rest of your plugins one by one to find out which one is incompatible.
ok, the w/o www is redirecting to www. interesting. i have tested on each type of domain url on my server and the ‘dismiss’ works for me. thanks for sharing your site, i was just curious if that had anything to do with why it wasn’t working for you. +1 on the superman trailer on your site, i am SO excited to see that movie!
which one redirects to which? does the www url result w/o it or the other way around. if i were to go to your site, how does your url load? i understand that both lead your site, i’m just wondering how it loads by default.
interesting… one other thought i had @jeremykerr… what is your url string like? meaning, do you have a ‘www’ in front of your domain name, or does it load without. if you were to go to your site does your domain look like:
this is interesting, it works fine for me in IE9, FF and chrome. I do not have a mac though. so, is this happening for you all in safari only, using v1.9.5 ?
just out of curiosity, does this error persist after deactivating all plugins except nextgen? i know from my own experience, sometimes other plugins can cause features of another plugin to not work as well. this is the first thing i do when troubleshooting an error. also, are you up to date on wordpress?
@jonm173 – i can see the duplication on your site. @fightin498a, i’m not seeing the duplication on yours. did you find a solution?
i’ve heard that the plugin authors are introducing some pretty dramatic improvements to the code in v2.0, i bet that will help solve a lot of issues like this. as a temp. solution if you aren’t able to find a fix to this (i haven’t experienced this bug, so i don’t know if i am being of much help), you could try using the plugin ‘lightbox plus’. i love that plugin for lightbox effects.
strange, clicking dismiss worked for me. i only saw it once. just in case it pops up again for me, are you guys up to date on wordpress? what other plugins do you have installed and what browsers are you using?
* all plugins except NextGEN of course. 😉
@ch1x0r – could it be another plugin on your site? try deactivating all your plugins, clear your cache and see if that fixes it. worth a try to at least eliminate the possibility that its another plugin causing it to happen for ya.
@htown, image resize setting is under gallery > options > images. slideshow setting is under options > slideshow. If you have previously resized the images and they are pixilated, it’s likely they were resized at the original default setting. so selecting to resize them to your new setting of 800×600 may not work. i’d suggest deleting that gallery, and creating a new gallery with the correct settings.
other areas you might check for image size settings is options > thumbnails. that controls the thumbnail size for imagelist gallery.
hope that helps.
