Hi, it’s solved. It might have been a ShipStation server problem. Not sure.

Their support was a wild kind of useless.

We’re getting the same error message when we try to verify API.

On the front-end the shipping is not available.

Sounds like the custom box algorithm does what we need it to. The rates it pulled seemed different from the ones we generated directly from ShipStation but we might be wrong.

    Thanks.

Forgot to mention that we also set shipping classes – box for atlases, and envelopes (large and small) for promotional products.

We tested it more – will keep doing it – so far it works great. Changing main (billing) address and “Ship to different address,” works like it should.

    Thanks again.

Yay! I tested it once by changing the main (billing) address. It works!

Will try several times more, including “Ship to different address?” I’ll let you know if I run into any problems.

    Thanks so much.

    hi Alex,

A workaround would have been great but I understand. No worries. We’ll wait for the updated version. It’s too important to leave to chance.

Thanks so much for working on an update. If it solves our current problems-if we don’t have switch plugins-can we reimburse you somehow?

    Thanks again.

    Thread Starter Willem

    (@neee)

    OK. Thanks.

In the meantime, is there a work around?

    Good morning Alex.

Although the live rates seem to show during checkout, they do not update when a user changes their shipping address – only a browser refresh combined with cache purge seems to work.

The cart, checkout, and account pages are in a “do not cache” folder but it seems problematic still.

Do you know what could be the problem – did you run into issues like this before?

    Thanks

Hi Alex, thanks for the input. I’ll check it out.

What is the “box price” for under WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones > Europe (zone) > Live Rates > Custom Packing Boxes (after selecting “pack items using Custom Packing Boxes?” This setting seems to alter—influence— the live rates.

Are these settings (custom packing boxes) important to get accurate rates? FYI, we are using custom size boxes for our products.

    Thanks

Alex, the rates shiw but they are about a third of what ShipStation says they should be.

Does the plugin use product spec like weight and dimensions to help ShipStation calculate the rates?

    Thanks

    (@neee)

Hi Alex, I got it to work. Thanks for reaching out. The plugin makes using ShipStation a whole lot easier. We thought using flat rates was our only option. Thanks

The rates show in the shopping cart after selecting the “edit” button of a previously created shipping zone. Doing so shows a list with checkboxes for different options—USPS priority, GlobalPost PLus, etc—to ship a package. After selecting one or more options, shipping rates show in the shopping cart.
