Further follow-up: everything I have described above happens regardless of which theme is active. I have experimented with several themes with identical results.

Follow-up: when using QTranslate in the WordPress admin, QTrsnslate partially translates Admin text into French and German, but not in Spanish.

Update….

The page in question is the one named after the member.

Example: blah.com/user005

It is the “User005” page that fails to appear.

The child page named after the membership level (i.e. blah.com/user005/membership-level) does appear, but the “user005” portion of the URL is mysteriously removed when that page renders (i.e. what appears is at address blah.com/membership-level).
