Good call! I just checked out the live version on the site’s real domain and they are all absolute, but when hosted through Desktop Server Pro it removes them. I guess it doesn’t mess w/ the plugin because it’s all done after the fact in javascript.

Got it to work!

I had to change your CDN example to:

function svi_cdn_image_url($image)

Interestingly enough, with the filter in place, it adds the ngrok URL to all of the images, even the ones WooCommerce was displaying as relative in my example above. If I remove the filter, they go back to relative.

I realize the title of my original post should have been updated. When I first started asking the question, I thought it was just a mobile issue and forgot to update there. Woops.

I haven’t been able to get the filter to work, but I’ll keep messing with it and see if I can figure it out. It was originally throwing an error saying it wanted 4 arguments but only 1 was available. I got it to stop throwing the error by only passing only $image, but then it was still using the site URL and not the ngrok url that I replaced {Insert cdn URL here} with.

Also, as far as I can tell, WooCommerce uses relative URLs for all of it’s images. At least that’s what it shows when I inspect the element of any image that it pulls.

See https://40fc667c.ngrok.io/home/gokey-boots/the-supreme/ for example. The thumbnails pulled for the related products at the bottom are all relative.

It’s not a huge deal, I can set up a staging environment on the site’s cPanel, I was just hoping to be able to share it w/ ngrok.

Hi pizzaport,

I’m in no way affiliated w/ WooCommerce, but I’ve been having some similar problems with content not showing up on pages, but only in Chrome. Are you by any chance using the built-in gallery, zoom, and lightbox? I found that disabling the lightbox but keeping the gallery fixed the issue, and now I just use Colorbox for my lightbox.

For mobile I’m testing on an iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, using iOS 9.1 with the latest Chrome and Safari. For desktop, I’ve tested on a 24-inch iMac (Early 2009) running Yosemite 10.10.5 with the latest Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and on a 27-inch Retina iMac (Late 2014), also on Yosemite 10.10.5 with the latest Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. And that’s just regular stable vanilla Chrome in all cases, not Canary.

Just a bit of an update – it turns out mobile Chrome is also only displaying the 2048×2048 image when I update max_srcset_image_width. It appears to first load in the 1024×1024 image, and then quickly swaps it out to 2048×2048. But with the function disabled, it only loads in the 600×600 image.

The desktop version is working properly.

Unfortunately my site is not live at the moment. But yes, there is a separate template file being used for this post type, and the loop on that page looks like:

I’m having the same issue.

the_post_thumbnail() is returning a standard img tag with only the standard width, height, src, class, and alt attributes.
