Thank you for the transparent and honest response, @rogierlankhorst. I’m glad to hear it will be fixed in the next update. No harm, no foul then. I’ll mark this as resolved.
Hi, @nathvi.
It was resolved at the time, but I reopened this thread because it’s happening again. Rather, the affected categories have changed. Now, it’s movie pages being affected. There might be other categories it’s not showing up on—I have a lot.
I can provide more info if necessary, but all of the previous info in this thread should be accurate. I haven’t touched the form at all. It’s set to appear on all posts.
Hi @bruberries
Thank you for the helpful reply. Just now, I went to submit a feature request using your provided link and clicking “New Issue,” but received the message, “Issues are disabled for the selected repository. Please select a different repository.” Am I doing this correctly? I don’t know my way around GitHub.
Also, if it’s not too much to ask, could you provide that CSS snippet that would hide the popup on my portfolio pages, and where I would insert it (I’m assuming a template)?
I appreciate the help!
Hi @nathvi,
Fortunately, it seems that the most recent MailPoet update fixed whatever was causing this. I’m marking this thread as resolved. Thank you for your time, though!
I’m still waiting for this issue to be resolved. Any updates?
Hi Gui,
I’m happy to send you the system info. Do you have a more secure place/address I could send it to? Just in case I overlook omitting some info, I’d rather it not be visible on a public forum. Thank you!
Hi @bruberries,
Thank you for the response. I’m a bit confused on the technical stuff. In my screenshot, I have the toggle set to “display on all posts/products,” but my music posts are posts. Shouldn’t my form be displaying on them, then? Also, why would my form be displaying on other categories’ posts, like those under the video games category? They all share the same post template, so there should be no unique code. If you look at non-music posts, they have my end-of-post form displayed.
When I say they don’t appear on category posts, what I mean is they don’t appear on posts under that category. I’m not aiming for it to display on archive pages, but rather on the posts within an archive.
Does this clear anything up? Sorry if I’m wording things poorly.

In reply to: Unbearably long loading times on WordPress backend.I’ve tried clearing my cache and cookies, but it doesn’t seem to affect anything. After a while of working in incognito mode, that will have the same long load times. At that point, I need to do a new incognito mode, or return to my non-incognito window, which has hopefully returned to normal speed at that point.

In reply to: Unbearably long loading times on WordPress backend.Hi, @threadi. Sorry for the slow reply. I’ve been very busy. I still need to look into those things you mentioned, but I noticed something that might narrow down the issue.
During these long load times, I’ve tried to access my site in incognito mode, where it typically loads at normal speeds. Recently, I’ve attempted to actually log in in incognito mode, which also loads at normal speeds. This means I can receive a minutes-long load time in my normal setup, then copy and paste the exact same editing URL into incognito mode, log in, and continue to work even before the original page has loaded!
Does this point to what might be going wrong?

In reply to: Unbearably long loading times on WordPress backend.Hi, @threadi. Always great to see you!
I don’t think Super Cache is related to the speeds. I’m sure it helps site speed generally, but my load times are irregular. The site can load quick on the backend for a while, then the same page(s) will suddenly take 5-20 minutes to load for a period. There should be no change to what’s being loaded, so times ought to be consistent. That is, if I’m understanding how this all works!
Could you go into more detail on the database point? How do I check its size, for instance? I’m not sure how to answer your questions in general. My inexperience is showing. Query Monitor doesn’t have completely consistent, slow queries showing up. Some show up more than others, but not every time. I’ve inlined four screenshots of QM’s output. I have dozens more. I don’t know if this helps you at all.
As for a persistent object cache, my host said redis or memcached aren’t available, but SQLite Object Cache would be an option. Do you think that’s still worth trying? I’m not sure what the difference would be compared to redis/memcached.
Thank you for your help, @maybellyne. It’s too bad to hear Yoast currently doesn’t have a workaround. I would prefer not to configure my site’s aesthetics around Yoast’s lacking customization options. I think this is a reasonable request, as dark themes are quite popular. I may be compelled to give Yoast a poor rating, at least until this is addressed. I’d be happy to change it if that ever happens!
Regardless, I appreciate you looking into the issue.
Hi @maybellyne,
Certainly! Here’s a screenshot. The pink highlighted text is what initially displays. The dark highlight is what appears once I click the area to edit text.
Thank you, @maybellyne! Your response was very helpful. I will put additional care into my tag and category page SEO.
Bumping my post.

In reply to: Is there a plugin allowing mass phrase-dependent formatting?Thank you so much, @threadi. I can more clearly visualize how this all works on the backend, now. I do want to affect postmeta as well, for consistency. This is my professional portfolio, so I want anything visible to adhere to MLA conventions.
I’m using the default block editor, as far as I know. I know there’s things like Gutenberg, but I’m still figuring out my way through the default editor, so I’d rather not step over that acquired knowledge so quickly.
Incidentally, the glossary tool does provide functionality I’ve considered before. I like to be thorough, and this could cut down on the density of my pages without removing information. How taxing is a plugin like this? I use cost-effective hosting, so I’m always a little cautious of things affecting my speed too much.
