    Just spoke with hosting company.

They suggested we deactivate WordFence since it was causing issues. Even though the problem started 12 hours ago we will do that.

The hackers have hijacked our ip address and there may be a script on our server that is looping to our website.

Below is a spam email we receive which is related to the issues of taking our site down.

The bottom line is every 3 hours we are going to be hacked and the site taken down and the only way to get it up is to call the host company to reboot the server.

Going forward, we don’t know how to stop this??

We installed WordFence but the site has been taken down again. Out hosting company is rebooting the server but states it is down because it is running out of processes due to attacks of thousands of ip addresses

Any suggestions? It seems the attacker has us on a 3 hr rotation to take down the site

our host says the php scripts continue to run and there are to many processes hitting the server at the same time. The host company had already found one ip address that kept hitting the server multiple times and blocked it, but the saga continues. Each time we call the host company, they need to reboot the server to get the site up again. The 2nd time, the host company said it was worse than the first time and couldn’t reboot the server.

Yes, we deactivated this plug in and it worked but only part of the site reloaded once deactivated. We reactivated it and the whole site came up. Our site is built on using this plug in so we must have it. Maybe a new upload to fix this will come along.

I think you’ve hit on it exactly. In November, we were advised by our IT consultants that our then existing theme was out dated and we should upgrade to a new theme. We did and after looking into our Theme just now as you had suggested we see it is not a WordPress theme but it looks its one that they may have developed and given us. How disapointing….How difficult is it for us to change to a WordPress theme?

I agree a patch is needed. Although deactivating “Sound Cloud” which is a plug in we use, solved our problem, we recognize not everyone uses this plugin. I think WordPress will need to release a “fix”

I found a solution for us. In reading through the other threads, someone had said deactivate “Sound Cloud”. When we did that, it worked. Visual editor is back on track now.
