In reply to: Javascript errorDon’t think I quite follow? Thought that was what I did.
How do impose best practice?

In reply to: Javascript errorProblem resolved, turns out it was the WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin that was causing the problem. An update was release since my last post which fixed the problem. Suspect there was a conflict between it and WP 4.0(.1)
Thanks for your help in trying to resolve my issue.
FYI: I have WP multisite installed on http://www.paraph.com.au with http://www.orcas.org.au redirected/cloaking to orcas.paraph.com.au

In reply to: Javascript errorSorry for being so sketchy, here are more details:
I created the redirection through my host panel using ‘zone management’ and changing the CNAME for www to point to orcas.paraph.com.au (TTL 3600). All other settings were left as host default including MX, NS and SOA. (I work on the principle that if I don’t know what it is than it’s best to leave it alone.)
Under the WP network installation Settings / Domains I have the following settings (image):
(https://www.dropbox.com/s/61fh73bdj5nof9i/DomainMapping.png?dl=0)Now, in checking other settings (Network / Sites / All Sites / orcas / Settings Tab) I noticed mail server URL settings and login were left as default (mail.example.com, [email protected], password) and suspect this may be the reason why. Is that correct? If so, do I update these to match that of the email address my client is using?
Details of top most settings can be seen here:

In reply to: Javascript errorHello Mika
I have a redirection active. From my limited understanding it’s the redirection that is causing the problem, is that right?
Thinking out loud here and going through the motions as I type…
I’ve checked other sub sites that have a redirection active and noticed none of these forms are working either. As opposed to sub sites with no redirection, these have no issues sending the contact form.
What is the best way to resolve this? I’ve contacted my host but they have not responded yet.

In reply to: Javascript errorHi Marc, thanks for your reply.
Yes, I’ve disabled all plugins but the problem persisted. Since I posted this problem I’ve found that there is a server error. Although not totally sure how to resolve the issue am in touch with my host for further assistance and waiting on their response.
Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at http://orcas.paraph.com.au/contact/. This can be fixed by moving the resource to the same domain or enabling CORS

In reply to: Transfer a multisite sub-domain to new domainThanks Bet
Exactly the advice I was after. I was concerned about BUB as their site mentioned it is only beta but good to know they do offer support for it.
I use iThemes Security and would prefer to ‘keep it in the family’.
I’m like you and am not keen on the manual option but good to know it exists, thanks again.

In reply to: Multisite 404 ErrorsHey, I’ve been having a similar problem and I’ve found it has to do with iThemes Security plugin. I’ve had to disable it for me to be able to log in to sub domains. Try that and let me know if this is an iThemes plugin in issue.

In reply to: Multisite Subdomain – Works when it wants to?Correction: not necessarily anything wrong with the plugin, could well be operator error.

In reply to: Multisite Subdomain – Works when it wants to?FYI I just disabled the iThemes plugin and I now have access again. Clearly something wrong with the plugin.

In reply to: Multisite Subdomain – Works when it wants to?Having the same issue. The main domain works fine and I can log in to that no problem but as soon as I switch to a sub-domain I get logged out and can’t make changes.
This has previously not been an issue.
I was hiding the login area using iTheme security but this didn’t want to work so I switched it off again.
I’ve also updated all plugins and hoping that an update to 3.9.2 would fix things but it hasn’t.

In reply to: User menus not displaying properlyFeeling sheepish. Problem found… user error!
Got a little overzealous installing plugins not realising I installed one that switches user menus off by default.

In reply to: User menus not displaying properlyThanks.
Yes, it’s the admin menu that isn’t displaying properly. When logged in as editor I don’t get to see the posts, pages, comments, etc.
The only menu items I can see is the Projects and a few plugins (Events, Feedback, SEO BWP, Mailchimp). I also don’t get the option to log out unless I quite my browser.
Not keen on changing themes and may also consult with the theme developer to see if there is an issue.
