In reply to: [Twenty Thirteen] How can I widen the text blocks?Hello again. This question was submitted quite awhile ago and I haven’t received a response. Is there something else I need to do? I sent a couple other questions about the twenty thirteen template recently and I was wondering if I’m asking in the wrong place.

In reply to: Changing width of text blockOr…Can you tell me how to override the CSS in Customizer > Additional CSS?
Or is that the same as changing the maximum width?

In reply to: Changing width of text blockWell…shoot. I don’t see a “Theme Support Forum”. Can you give me a link? When I click on “Themes and Plugins” it just takes me to the page where I choose a theme. Thanks for any help you can give me.

In reply to: Changing width of text blockThank you Joy!
So where do I find that
.entry-content {max-width: 604px}
Can I change the 604 to 850? Or 900?

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty] Change the width of a “normal” blockHello, I’m trying to widen the text blocks on this site
http://www.fishofcowlitzcounty.org
I tried this code in customize css
.entry-content > p:not(.alignwide):not(.alignfull):not(.alignleft):not(.alignright):not(.is-style-wide) {
max-width: 860px;
}and the width of the text block didn’t change. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?

In reply to: Updating failedThank you for this, but I’m not having much luck. I disabled all the pluggins, and I tried to change the theme to one of the twenties. (Does that mess up the site when you change the theme? When I put it back the main menu changed to the top menu. I think I fixed it.) I’m really a newbie. It still says “updated failed” but I clicked on the “HealthCheck” and a zip file downloaded to my computer do I upload it to my wordpress as a pluggin now? If so, do I upload the zip file or something from the decompressed folder?
Thanks for any information you can give me. Right now, I’m not real fond of WordPress.

In reply to: Where do I edit?That worked! I wish ALL my tech issues could be that simple. Now. IF I wanted to edit that part that’s to the left of the slider – where would that be? I don’t see it on the home page.
Here’s the link again:
You’re awesome!
Thanks
Thank you so much for this. This was helpful. I probably won’t be the one to clean it up, but if someone did a one time cleanup and I download and keep a copy of the site right away, could I upload the clean site if the site gets infected again? Would it overide the infected site?

Sorry – I thought I had links to the screenshot. Here they are. They show the alert and a code when I hover over the section it shows “payload” I don’t know what that means.

In reply to: Did I really do a databasebackup?I see the “wp-content” file. Is the “wp-config.php just one file? I don’t see it.
Oh! I think I found it. It’s a single file in the “wp-admin” folder.
Actually, no it’s not. It’s floating around in the “blog” folder.
But that’s the file I need to back up along with the wp-content directory folder. Correct?

In reply to: Did I really do a databasebackup?Thanks Chris, when you talk about backing up the files including theme and plugins, are you talking about everything that’s in the “public_html” folder on the ftp upload?
