    Hello,

This issue is resolved. Deactivating the plugin ‘ozh Admin Drop Down Menu” restored the Dashboard. I have updated to WordPress 3.8,and here also this plugin causes the Dashboard to format incorrectly. Since this plugin is one of the most popular of all, with hundreds of thousands of downloads, there must be something slightly awry with my installation of WordPress, or one of the other plugins.

Many thanks for all your suggestions.

Thank you. This is most helpful. This means that if it is the upgrade that was involved, it was the last of the 3.7 series. It may be something else entirely, and have nothing to do with the upgrades.

    Hello Clayton,
Good catch. I will try a manual update to 3.8 and see if that resolves the issue. WordPress now updates automatically, it is interesting that it may have crashed during the process somehow.

When does WordPress do the update? Is it when one logs on to the Dashboard for example?

    Hello Esmi,

Thank you so much. I will try all these in turn and report back.
