Sorry to come back to you this late about this.
But im not talking about the amazon form,
rather that in our website checkout, it is impossible to set the phone number optional now.
even if you do not choose to pay with amazon.
As long as the plugin is active, the phone number is forced to be required regardless what kind of setting you set it to.Forum: Plugins

As you can see the Telefon field is not set in the menu on the right.
However it does still appear on the checkout itself and is set to mandatory
