Further: upgrading to WooCommerce 3.0.3 was enough to get the images back to the larger size, and they’ve stayed that way since applying the Virtue Premium update too.
Thanks, Hannah. I didn’t know (or had forgotten) that I had lifetime premium support as I did buy the theme prior to then – that’s some awesome information, thanks.
That “Stop…” option was set to ‘off’ so I’ve turned it on. Now, it suppresses the short descriptions, which is likely what you were expecting, but leaves the images v. small (same size as they were in the dev screenshot when the short descriptions _were_ displayed) rather than switching them back up to how they still are in the live site (not updated).
Anyway, I notice tonight that there are further updates available for WooCommerce to 3.0.3 and Virtue Premium to 4.1.4. I’ll apply those now and see what the behaviour is once everything is up to date, then if something still seems to be misbehaving, I’ll follow up on the Virtue forum.

Thanks, Kevin. Didn’t go to that forum because while I’m using premium, I purchased more than a year ago and I thought support was only for 12mths.

Related – can I customize the currency symbols so that CA$ amounts are shown as “CA$100” and US$ amounts are shown as “US$100”?
