many thanks for your reply, yes, the spam protection was already enabled, this is the whole reason that i contacted you in the first place because even though spam protection was enabled we still received thousands of spam signups

many thanks for your reply, the customer is getting mass spam registrations on her site, I mean mass as it was thousands, I have disabled the register link for the time being while we figure this out
its like there is no protection for the spam signups being registered as members
please see the following screenshot as a example of the members section which is nearly all spam signups
