thanks for taking the time to assist me.

when I log into wp as admin I check the settings and in the window that shows me which list is being used someone elses list is displaying and my list is gone and to answer your question the lists that show are not setup in my mailchimp account.

Thanks for the reply,

I am in fact using Mailchimp List Subscriber the mention of API was in reference to the mailchimp site, I tried to resolve the issue by changing API keys thinking that they may have been compromised. That turned out to be a dead end.
