  • Yes it works when you click directly on the text. No idea which files. You shouldn’t modify these or use a child theme, to not prohibit yourself from theme updates. If you do modify themes by hand, I recommend you keep a log/protocol of what modifications you made where, so you can re-apply these modifications after upgrading the theme if necessary (and then switch to child theme strategy, hehe)

I’d say it is fixed, just, as reported above, it could be improved a bit further, but it does work again. Have you tried the update?

OK I see the update just rolled out. I immediately tested it on 5 sites…. what is bad is that items in the customizer only open by directly clicking on the text (e.g. “main bodz design”) not the entire menu item or the little “>” arrow on the right….

Seems to be an issue with the theme in particular. I did some tests and it seems like the problem is limited to that theme https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/after-update-to-wordpress-v6-7-theme-cuztomize-settings-stopped-working/

Great to know the fix is in the works

Console offers tons of errors and warnings etc, but nothing that looks like it might stop the customizer from not working. In the default view I get these jscript messages:

    Hi

haven’t had the chance to check those counts, but it does all look a bit like a “pattern”… and it is just one site that is affected. Too bad I can’t upload images here maybe this works: https://postimg.cc/5Y3GzfdC

Might be a general problem with that website, it seems. I can’t get a reliable ssl-only setup going for some reason… so I assume it is related to that. Let me see if the problem persists once I have solved that. Thanks for the quick reply!

My only workaround I could think of is this: I work off the single post template file, remove what I don’t need displayed, and put a condition into the page-title.php that if the category of the custom post type content is a certain ID, then it will just display a custom text/link up where the category usually is. Thoughts?

I think it’s a lot of customization work. It would be great if themes had little check boxes of what elements to be displayed with what types of content. For all the modularity in the world, wordpress themes are still horribly tangled messes of interdependent php files

I also suspect to encounter this. Lost all interactivity in the backend (no setting date, no uploading images, nothing) after upgrade.

Turns out it was Yoast SEO plugin that caused them. I disabled the plugin and it was fine. Sorry for initially posting this in an unrelated thread

Error console also shows this error: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/3-0-error-option-ajax-is-not-allowed-for-select2/

Great, I assumed at least your own theme was compatible 😉 Any ideas?

Hueman is not even activated. Never mind, please delete the thread. I bow my head in shame 😉
I got confused because it is installed and I just upgraded all the themes and then the problem occurred

After this upgrade, I cant really use my WordPress anymore in the backend. No image uploads, basically nothing javascript works anymore…..

Yes exact same problem on all my wordpress installs. it’s so weird….

I have now managed to override the sidebars. So in general, it seems to work, but as soon as I publish that page, that is assigned to bbpress, it “forgets” its sidebar layout that I have set. Very confusing problem indeed. Something must be causing a conflict, and I have to say, I already hate BBpress even after just playing with it for a day….
