That was definitely a suboptimal decision. We do log into WordPress.com occasionally but the reports there are not useful enough to make it worthwhile. We just need access to the basic data most of the time.
What will it take to get this reversed?

In reply to: [Classic Editor] Is it MULTISITE workable? Can you network activate and . . .I am not a developer but I use it on multisite installs. No problems encountered so far.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Site Stats Difficult to ReadI guess we’ll have to do that because it’s been two weeks since Jetpack was last updated and this problem is REALLY annoying.
ON EDIT: This doesn’t work in Chrome, even if I add CSS to the theme through WordPress’ own custom CSS. They really need to fix the plugin.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Site Stats Difficult to ReadThanks for the follow up. I’ve been too ill and busy to post a comment but I see that the issue was escalated to high priority. Thanks to everyone who voiced their concerns over the change.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Site Stats Difficult to ReadI’m talking about the way it appears in the self-hosted dashboard, not on WordPress-dot-Com. I don’t see what sharing a URL would do for you.
The chart was larger in the older versions of the plugin. Now there is a ton of empty space on both sides of the chart and the data widgets are squeezed down to really small proportions.
The WordPress admin dashboard looks the same. For example, if I look at the posts or pages the display fills the screen. So I know it is only Jetpack that has this problem.
Why was the display changed? This is across every site where we use Jetpack and it happens independently of the theme.

In reply to: [Weaver Xtreme] Great theme, terrible supportThe problems I reported are with Weaver Xtreme. It would really be helpful if people would just stop trying to say I am wrong.
YOU are wrong.
The theme loses data during conversions. It happened on every conversion. The theme inserted a ridiculous and unnecessary popup. Yada yada yada.
If you’re happy, great. I have to maintain hundreds of Websites. Weaver Xtreme is a bad solution for that kind of scale.

Thanks for the update. I saw the notifications had stopped but wasn’t ready to say the problem is resolved for me.

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded ImagesI will make a note of that. Thank you. Will probably help when I am assisting people who cannot use telnet on their sites.
For anyone else who is wondering why I would delete the Speed Booster Pack rather than live with its attempt to load images in a lazy fashion, THEY NEVER ASKED ME if I wanted to do that (and I don’t).
We speeded up our sites by an order of magnitude by converting from a Hard Disk Drive to a Solid State Drive and upgrading to a more powerful server. I’m happy to without the minor tweaks that the speed plugins introduce. They just don’t cut the mustard.

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded ImagesFor those who are curious about how I finally found the problem, I telnetted into the server and used the “grep” command to search all the WordPress files for “crazy_lazy” (a recursive search). Of course, not everyone can do that.

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded Images*SIGH* … Okay, I missed ONE plugin. Speed Booster Pack was updated on April 3 and it appears to be introducing the problem.
Yes, I owe you guys an apology.
No, that’s not good enough.
Now I have to delete that plugin from a LOT of Websites.
Thanks for standing your ground. You’re underappreciated.

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded ImagesThe “crazy_lazy” is not in the SQL data. I am trying to find a way to search all the WordPress files (quickly).
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded ImagesI will search the SQL database and see if it is injected in there.

In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded ImagesWell, before I came and reported this I had:
__1) Changed the themes
__2) Disabled the plugins
__3) Checked for unauthorized plugins
__4) all that other stuffForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress 4.9.5 Broke ALL Our Embedded Images“How are you embedding images? The markup does not look like the normal stuff from “Add Media”. Do you do any filtering of that?”
We use the WYSIWIG editor built into WordPress with no special plugins. We select “Link To: NONE”. Been doing that for years. Did not have a problem until WordPress installed 4.9.5.
