Hmm, interesting. It is indeed cookie related. I’d checked in an incognito window, accepting the initial cookie banner and it didn’t show. When I use the revisit consent and allow all again, however, it starts showing.
It must be an issue with the cookie consent plugin.

Originally I thought it was just an issue with link payments when I opened the ticket as the first two cases were both link payments, but then I saw the issue was also happening with other payment methods including cards. (You can see payment method in the attached logs).
Since disabling Link, Apple and Google Pay, the issues have become much less frequent, but it does still happen occassionally.
It seems to be when there’s a slight delay with the payment authorisation. I guess Link, Apple and Google Pay are slightly slower, so more likely to happen with these?
I can roll back if really necessary, but as the issue didn’t happen before, then started happening just after the update, it would seem pretty clear it’s related.
The fact that it’s not happening on a massive scale would seem to indicate that it’s a conflict between the latest updates to the Stipe plugin and another plugin, or other factor specific to my wordpress installation is causing the issue.
As the issue is so infrequent, however, it’s very hard to pinpoint.
Not sure if it’s related exactly, but I also note that I don’t get the “Cancelled order” email notification, even though this is enabled. All other WooCommerce email notifications are working.Sorry, I missed your previous replies, but I can confirm that the issue is NOT resolved.
It doesn’t happen as regularly since I disabled Link, Google and Apple Pay options, but it does still happen.

I’ve included the data from the REST API in .txt file format rather than a screencapture to make analysing the data easier.
orders_cancelled_in_error_details.txt contains the order details and notes of orders that incorrectly changed status to cancelled after payment was taken.
random_order_details_as_control.txt contains a random selection of orders that were processed without issue. I include this as while there are many factors in common between the problem orders, that doesn’t really help without comparing to other orders as a control.

I could possibly be tempted by the Commercial sites (29.98 USD, 14 day money back guarantee) if it was unlimited websites.
I generally use UpdraftPlus. I’ve been using it for years, and used to pay 30€ a year or thereabout for the migrator add on. They’ve discontinued that now so the only option is the full premium subscription. Hence I went searching for something else and found your plugin.
But I can still do regular automated backups to Google Drive with their free version, and now migrations I’ve found are easy to do with your free version.So while I’d happily shout you a coffee, it doesn’t really make sense for me to pay for a subscription I don’t really need.
Unrelated, but FYI I never received the email to confirm my email address. Maybe there’s some issues with your SMTP settings – didn’t arrive to spam either.

I have tried this, but can’t find a “smoking gun”. There’s no real clear factor that is present in all affected orders, but not present in any other orders.
Here are some findings:Payment Method Timing Pattern:
- In the problematic orders, there’s a consistent short time gap (usually 5-7 seconds) between the “Stripe payment intent created” note and the “Order status changed from Pending payment to Processing” note
- This timing might be interacting unusually with the cancellation check system?
Browser / Device Patterns:
- It seems problematic orders used Safari browser on iOS or Chrome on mobile
- This might interact with how the payment processing timing works, maybe patchy reception? But many if not most orders a placed via mobile without issue.
This just started happening as of 22nd March, so seems to be related to the most recent Stripe plugin/Woocommerce update?
Further to the previous, here is the snip:
I will check this when I get a second, but note that earlier in the time line the orders are correctly marked as processing.
Surely if there was an issue with the webhooks it would affect more orders. Also, why did the issue just start happening after the recent updates?
I shared the order notes of two orders in the previous reply. Do you want more?
The only thing in common product wise that I can see is that all the affected orders contain products for which stock is monitored. But almost all orders contain products for which stock is monitored and most aren’t affected.
There haven’t been any other reports of this happening to other stores?
When I get a second I’ll see if I can run some kind of data analysis on the affected orders vs the rest to see if I can parse any differences.
Well that's pretty disappointing. I need this fixed ASAP though so I guess I have little choice. I'm not sure why you can't have a private ticketing system like any other plugin.

Thanks for your reply. Further to my initial post, I now see that this is not limited to Link Payments, as I have just had it happen again but with a card payment.

It does appear to be related to the stock hold, but it’s not affecting most orders, it’s just happend to 3 so far – 2 paid with link, this one via card.
All 3 orders appear to have been made via iPhone/Safari – so perhaps this is a factor.Thanks for your reply.
The stock hold setting was already set to 60 minutes and had been for a long time.
I don’t want to adjust this setting and think it unlikely it would have an effect.
Note that the orders where this happened had a successful “Stripe charge complete” with charge id, then changed to cancelled afterwards (1 hour 26 minutes, and 1 hour 5 minutes later).
So while it could be related, all that changing the time is likely to do is change when the order cancels erroneously.
