In reply to: [reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced] Regeneration process is still pausingHi Jiri,
Could you please try deactivating all plugins except reGenerate Thumbnails Advanced and try again the regeneration? This will help us see if this behaviour is caused by another plugin.
Thank you!
Good to know you managed to solve it! 🙂

In reply to: [reSmush.it : The original free image compressor and optimizer plugin] imagesThanks for your review, dendun0318!
Hi BeeCee,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
Developing and supporting a free plugin takes a lot of time, effort, and money. It’s disheartening to see that even though this plugin offers the same features as other competitors, while at the same time offering additional premium ones (same as almost every other plugin in the repository), your review was negative 🙁
Maybe you can suggest a better approach on how we could be supported in maintaining this free plugin?Thank you!

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Problem since WP 5.8.3.Hi marvinski03,
Thanks for the information. Most probably this is a cache issue, so I would recommend you checking this pinned thread.
Also, I suggest you deactivate any image optimization plugins like Converter for Media, as they may conflict with Enable Media Replace. In fact, it would be better if you used ShortPixel Image Optimizer, which is guaranteed to work with Enable Media Replace.
Please try it again and if you have any questions, we’ll be around 🙂
Best,
Hi wellshot,
Thank you for the detailed information and for the screenshots. We really appreciate the effort you’ve put in so far!
What you’re encountering (“URL is inaccessible from our server(s) due to access restrictions”) means ShortPixel’s servers can’t reach your image URLs. From what you’ve shared, you’ve done everything correctly: zone ID and token are configured, ShortPixel IPs and Germany are whitelisted, and hotlink protection is off.
At this point, the issue appears to be on Cloudflare’s side. Cloudflare may still block automated requests like ours due to security settings (e.g. Bot Fight Mode, custom firewall rules, or rate limiting), even when IPs are whitelisted.
Next steps we recommend:
- Please review our guide on Cloudflare integration for more context: https://kb.shortpixel.com/knowledge-base/article/cloudlfare/
- Consider contacting Cloudflare support, referencing the error and requesting assistance ensuring our IPs can access your site.
We really want to help you get this working. Let us know what happens after these steps. We’re standing by and happy to assist further!
Warm regards,

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Problem since WP 5.8.3.Hi marvinski03,
Please help us help you, what exactly is the problem? 🙂
Also, WordPress is already at version 6.8.2. I would strongly recommend you updating to this version and check again.
Thanks!
Thanks for your review, Christos! We are happy that you are happy 🙂
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve experienced.
This situation sounds very unusual — we’ve never encountered a similar issue before, and reSmush.it is designed to work safely without removing images. In many cases like this, the issue may be due to a conflict with another plugin or a caching problem that makes it appear as though the images are missing when they’re not.
It’s a real shame that you didn’t reach out to us via a support thread before leaving the review. We’re always happy to help and investigate issues further, but without more information about your setup, we’re limited in what we can do from here.
Please feel free to open a support thread — we’re here to assist and would really like the chance to help you get this resolved.
Best regards,

In reply to: [Enable Media Replace] Replacing JPGs with WEBPsHi charlieve02,
Thanks for reaching out!
The message you’re seeing — “The replacement file does not have the same file type. This can lead to unexpected issues (image/jpeg – image/webp)” — is simply a warning, not an error. It’s meant to inform you that you’re replacing a JPEG file with a WebP file, which is a different format. So, is it safe?
In most cases, yes, it’s safe, especially if your theme, plugins, and hosting environment fully support WebP. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Some older browsers or systems might not support WebP.
- If your theme or a plugin relies on the original file extension (e.g.,
.jpg), replacing it with a.webpmight cause display issues.
If you’re sure your site supports WebP correctly, you can proceed. Just be sure to check the image on the front end afterward. About thumbnails:
Yes, Enable Media Replace will automatically regenerate the thumbnails when you upload a new image.
Let us know if you have any other questions!
Best regards,
Gerard
Hi deeveearr,
I’ve consulted this with our team, and I can confirm that ShortPixel does not remove the Edit Image button from the Media Library. Most probably this is some other plugin affecting it. I recommend you doing the following:
- Deactivate every single plugin except ShortPixel
- Activate them one by one until you find the plugin that removes the Edit Image button.
In addition, just to be on the same page, ShortPixel cannot crop an image. The editor you are talking about is the native WordPress photo editor, and even though you see a notification from ShortPixel, it shouldn’t prevent you from editing the photo 🙂
Cheers!
Thanks for your review, gomodular!
