You’re right — a major change like this should’ve been versioned 5.0.0 with a clear changelog note. We’ll fix this in the next update. Appreciate your input!

Thank you for reaching out! We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused.We recently transferred ownership of the plugin and made updates in version 4.9.6, including minor changes to the plugin name and author.
We’re aware of the issue with activation after the Freemius opt-in and are currently working on a fix. We’ll release an update shortly. In the meantime, you may downgrade to version 4.9.5 as a temporary solution.
