In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Run away from this plugin! UPDATEIt turned out to be a conflict with a plugin – ignitewoo – which I deleted and reinstalled (the same version which had been the latest). Then everything was fine. I just followed the common advice of going to my plugins, deactivating each one, the activating one at a time as I checked my media library display. Sure enough, it worked until I activated the culprit.
I have since been using EWWW with no problems whatsoever.

In reply to: [EWWW Image Optimizer] Run away from this plugin! UPDATEI was WRONG and I will reverse my 1 star rating. I’m typing this here so it6 shows up with my first comments.I assumed that because others were having the same problem, that it had to be this plugin.
The author, Shane Bishop, responded immediately with help. He suggested that it could be a java script problem, so I did a couple of hours of research, and found the answer. He was right. I found tons of people that had the same problem, and it seems to be linked to the WordPress 4.6 update.
Lesson learned. Don’t jump to conclusions. Do more research before you turn assumption and coincidental timing into “fact.” All of my media problems were caused by something other than this plugin.
